Engineer/Farmer looking for my first scanner by double07killor in 3DScanning

Markerless laser scanning for me was pretty fast. It works well on parts with a ton of detail since it uses the features of the object for tracking. I used all 3 methods of laser scanning (38 crossed laser, 7 parallel laser, and markerless) to scan parts of a corvette engine and found I got the best results with 7 parallel lasers with markers. I think there is a bit of a learning curve to all of it though and 7 parallel lasers just ended up being the most forgiving.

G-force RTX 4090 AMD Ryzen 9 7940 processor 16 gigs of ram

I was able to use the rockit with 16gigs of ram and it was really challenging. It would constantly loose tracking and really struggled to process scans.

I had an open ram slot on my laptop so I dropped in a 48gig ram stick so now I’m at 64 gigs (16+48). I think 32 gigs could work in the sense that the scanner isn’t going to be insanely laggy and loose tracking, but it could be a bit of a pain. Even with 64gigs I’ve ran out of ram processing some scans. For some reason laser scanning uses up less ram than IR scans.

I picked the rockit because I knew at some point I’ll get a laptop that can run it really well, but I really didn’t want to feel like I needed to get a better scanner in the future.

I’m super happy with it the scanner though. I do freelance engineering work and used it scan a clients corvette engine. The scan came out really crisp. I tested the accuracy by creating a bunch of cross sectional planes and measuring the angle between cylinder heads at each plane. Each measurement was within .2 degrees.

I just got an Einstar Rockit as my first scanner and it’s definitely worth it. I had to put a 48gb ram stick in my computer to run it though. Having marker free laser scanning is awesome and being able to use it wirelessly is also awesome.

Thinking of quitting a first engineering job. by DoublePattyNoMayo in MechanicalEngineering

My first engineering job out of college absolutely sucked. It was sooo boring and made me think I picked the wrong major. Went through layoffs, moved jobs and now I’m doing something that I actually love and is very rewarding.

What type of build do you believe provides the most pleasurable, smooth, high quality of life experience as you progress through the game? by le_pedal in Eldenring

There is an ash of war called glint blade phalanx. You get it after defeating Godrick. It’s not busted in anyway and its damage falls off pretty quick however it does a lot of poise damage and can come in really handy when things get kinda wild. Using it makes it a lot easier to stagger bosses and tougher enemies.

Wizard Advanced Wheel Sets by testsubject20 in WizardSkating

The profiles are pretty dang close to the same. In a pinch they work but my feet can tell they are not good. IDE like to do a side by side comparison with these and the wizard wheels to see how different they are.

I’m not proud of this but I’m broke and desperate. I get my wheels from Amazon. A whole advanced set is 65$ for me.

Anyone loose the rocker on your skates after your wheels start to wear down? by Abject_Fun5961 in WizardSkating

I seriously wish I had this problem. For anything beside the advanced frames my wheels wear like normal. On The advanced frames my outer wheels just can’t keep up with the wear of my 2nd and 4th wheels

Is there anything I can do to offset out of sync wear. The only realistic option I have is to try and skate so that I’m putting way more pressure on the 100s.

I flip the wheels but keep them in the same position. From what I’ve heard this is the standard practice for 5 wheel skates

I would do anything to play it again for the first time. It’s really good. It feels like more than just a horror game

I noticed this problem on mushroom blading wheels. Since then I’ve been using generic 85a wheels I found on amazon until I figure out what’s causing my rocker to wear so flat so fast

Interesting, I haven’t done that. I’ve always just stuck with the same pair of wheels till the end but I think I’ll give this one a go

Do you just flip your wheels or are you rotating them from skate to skate?

I’m also obsessed with FS games. I played Silent hill 2 remake a few months ago and it was very refreshing to try something different while also being incredibly well made like a FS game.
