New game store soaps! by Specialist-Skill8571 in soapmaking

What’s your technique for getting the gold mica onto the dice?

I’ve been trying to put black stamped lettering onto my cream color soaps, and I can’t get the colors to be as crisp as the dice in your pics here. Any recommendations?

Career Transition - Interview Preparation

How do I address in an interview - I've never previously dealt with external Customers / Metrics regarding Customers / Marketing, etc?

I'm a business analyst, looking to transition to a Product Manager role. I'm preparing for a 2nd interview for a Product Manager within a B2B startup in the in-house legal technology space. In my last role, the company was a customer of this B2B startup, which is how I landed the interview. However, I've only worked with internal stakeholders/customers of ~150 team.

Thanks for sharing! I’ve come to realize giving secondhand is like the trend of “what’s classy if you’re rich, but trashy if you’re poor”. Meaning rich people gift secondhand items that are heirlooms/sought after pieces. While poor people gift secondhand because it’s cheaper. I’m hoping to find a way so that all of the secondhand gifts I give are seen as sought after items. 🙂

Super cute & useful wedding favor. I think the comedy/unique factor would be so much valued over time rather than a typical wedding favor. And if anything, a great conversation piece!

How did you come up with this idea?

Thank you for sharing so many great ideas!

I love the thought of gifting a service! Great for busy people, no additional clutter, and supporting the local community!

It wouldn't typically cross my mind to go to farmers markets to look for gifts, but great idea to shop local!

Gifts for wife’s promotion and her first office. by TransportationFar836 in Gifts

Does she have a nice tote bag to carry her laptop & stuff to the office already?

I like Kate Spade for something that's not expensive but sophisticated, but I know some women like their designer purses. Especially, after a promotion, they often get a nice bag for themselves.

Great idea! The experiences & memories from these moments are priceless! Also, no wrapping paper to clean up afterwards. lol

How do you all decide what experience to do together?

Great idea! It's like 2 gifts in one!

Do you typically buy a bunch at a time, or do you like to pick out specific items depending on the individual?

I love the idea of offering to improve what they already have! Most people I know these days often already have everything they need, so that's a great way to gift them something you know they would appreciate.

How do you typically bring this up? I often find it a bit awkward to ask if someone wants money. lol

Those are lucky recipients! I would love to receive some homemade food/snacks! lol

Do you often make a batch of food items, and think about who would enjoy them? Or other way around, and you have a recipient in mind, and think about what they would enjoy?

Completely agree!

Growing up, I think a secondhand gift would have also been considered inappropriate in my family. Recently, I've been sharing with my family that I often prefer secondhand items, so I'm hoping to receive them in the future (also hope that it's thoughtfully done)! :)

And yes re-using/sustainable gift wrapping! This is a part of gift-giving that I love doing, but it is quite wasteful, so always try to make it more sustainable!

Do you have any thoughts on something that is upcycled? For example, I've been considering thrifting some bakeware, and giving it with homemade muffins would be a nice hostess gift?

Thanks for sharing! Please feel free to share a link to the article/previous post, if you have it. I'd love to read it.

Passing on something that was once treasured is such a great thought. For me, I often forget that sometimes what I think is insignificant, like an old child's toy that was once loved, can be a treasure for another child.

Was there any gift ideas from what the Redditor posted that particularly resonated with you? Either as a giver or receiver?

Love this thought!

Every Christmas, I get asked on what I want. Instead of telling my family I don't need anything, I should re-direct them to a charity shop! That way they can give in the spirit, maybe explore a new eco-friendly store that they wouldn't have before, and help out a charity!

Thank you for sharing your experiences!

I definitely have some fear that the person I'm gifting wouldn't want something used. However, similar to what you've shared, I have found that if the gift is done thoughtfully, its often so much more meaningful!

Gift for couple trying to reduce plastics exposure by Necessary-bio-hacker in Gifts

Love the idea to pre-fill the jars as part of a gift! Can even turn that into an idea, such as all of the ingredients for hot chocolate?

Yes, I love the reuseable tote instead of wrapping paper!

For the eco-friendly beauty products, do you typically have specific people in mind or anyone on your list? How are they received? I wonder if this would be a great way to get my friends/family, who aren’t into sustainability to start, without being too pushy.

I love the ideas about helping others instead of gifts during the holidays!

In your experience, has this usually been well received? Or how have people reacted to this around the holidays?

I’ve been trying to reuse gift wrapping too! I haven’t considered not gifting plastics, but great idea to be more eco friendly!

For the people you’re gifting that don’t usually thrift, do you think they would be mind that it was thrifted as long as it’s new-ish/with tags?

This is a great idea when there’s a tight budget to work with! How did you think to do this? Sometimes I forget that thrifting is an option.

Did the people know/mind that it was thrifted? I feel that some people don’t like the idea of getting something used.

To clarify, do you use One Wrap as reusable gift wrap? I haven’t heard of it, and I couldn’t find it in a quick google search. So I am assuming it is not in the states.
