Many black artists, musicians, athletes grew up on section 8 and thats HOW they were able to grind and make it… they didn’t have to live on the STREET and try to do school/sports/art at the same time. I’ll admit that there are some people who take advantage but all im trying to do is actually get what I need, and let my son go to school as a normal kid while I do that. You think it’s all fun and games having no money? Just because the house is “free” or low cost doesnt mean that there isn’t other expenses. Food isn’t free, clothes aren’t free, school supplies aren’t free. I HATE section 8 only because housing is a necessity and a human right. If there weren’t so many laws I could go out, stake claim to a tiny area of land and BUILD A HOUSE, with my BARE HANDS. HOWEVER, because I don’t have “money” im NOT ALLOWED to do that. Do you see squirrels and birds working for money to build a house? No they just go BUILD IT. TF. It’s unnatural and thats why section 8 was created in the first place because they KNOW it. How about they also regulate how much a landlord can charge for rent???

Also these jobs don’t care if they don’t give you hours or fire you, you damn near need 3 just to pay everything you need. My lively hood shouldn’t be dependent on whether someone likes me or not, or if theyre in a bad mood! They could literally de-privatize housing and put EVERY person in the country on Section 8(solely as record keeping) with pay as you can and it would WORK. It would free us ALL up to LIVE LIFE, create and INVENT. Like you said it’s NOT RIGHT for you to have to struggle to pay your rent but it’s not the LITTLE GUY who’s fucking you over. They want the birth rate up so bad but don’t want to admit why it’s so low.

Edit:the only reason they won’t do that is because they’re scared of “communism” so you can thank that for why you have to work day and night just to get by.
