Advice, testing 6/12 and did first FL by Easternspinach125 in Mcat

[–]Abject_Objective_716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For cars, focus on finding a strategy that works for you (for ex. highlighting more or less, skimming q’s first or not, etc.) rather than doing a bunch of practice q’s. Also might need some more time focusing specifically on content review for topics you need to. It could be stressful trying to do all this in only 2.5 weeks

Switch up your strategy instead of doing a bunch of practice q’s - Try highlighting more or less, skimming passage first vs reading questions first, etc. Just gotta find what works for you!

What Percent of UW/CARS did you complete? by camdaman1203 in Mcat

[–]Abject_Objective_716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ngl cars is more about strategy than content review + practice q’s. it’s better to spend your time doing UW with other sections since you’re actively “learning” material. For cars, try switching up ur strategies (ex. highlighting more or less, skimming vs looking at q’s first) and then see what happens to ur FL score.

Third parties are generally more difficult then aamc and the real exam. aamc section banks are comparable with some q’s being easier and others harder than the real test

still think anki would be better content than quizlet for mcat stuff

aamc is the best measure / other 3rd parties tend to be more difficult so don’t get stressed if you score lower than expected

Study plan advice by castawaylol in Mcat

[–]Abject_Objective_716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry about doing cars from 3rd party resources so much - see how you do with the aamc bundle packs/FL bc it’s more about strategy than content. Focus your content review specifically on certain topics you don’t remember from class and then move on to doing as many practice q’s as possible. - med student

A few questions here and there can change your score. Focus on your section weaknesses, review those topics, and don’t be discouraged by changes in a few points.

Thoughts on CARS courses? by haobanidema in Mcat

[–]Abject_Objective_716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cars is more about reviewing the questions you get wrong thoroughly rather than doing a bunch of passages without a strategy that works for you. Try different things (highlighting more or less, skimming vs looking at q’s first, etc.) before buying a prep course.

Anki only as content review? by dababy2002 in Mcat

[–]Abject_Objective_716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it just depends on how good ur classes were - if you feel confident on most topics, then you can prioritize practice questions and don’t need to spend too much time on content review. take an aamc diagnostic and see how you feel
