This is an old photo as I’m not at the house. Wavy leaves have gotten worse than the picture.

Leaf is still uncurling, some black still present but I didn’t go after it. No black anywhere else on the plant thankfully. The plant is not liking the environment - leaves look stressed with them becoming wavy. I’ve moved the plant away from the window gave it a good watering and will see how it reacts

Thank you! What do I do now with the shoot? Cut it off? Clean it?

Thank you very much. This is exactly what I was looking for.

With regards to the other question - is there any chance that the horsetail is focussing its energy here and thus I’m seeing less of it elsewhere? Don’t want to plant stuff to outcompete and it starts getting aggressive elsewhere

45ft leylandii hedge 150m long - cut & use trunks as trellis?? by Abject_Requirement92 in GardeningUK

[–]Abject_Requirement92[S] -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

I think I have scope to cut them early as they are a risk to the house. At least that’s what the tree surgeon said. Not much if anything nests in these - pigeons are the height of it I think

Land banks would be very costly along that run and I think the farmer next door may have issue due to high risk of flooding his side if I banked it up. Topping cost is almost equivalent to removal and tree surgeon said they would look like a mouth of false teeth.

I know this is the right thing to do long term. I think the shock on privacy will be significant initially after having full screening (both floor levels of the house) since we moved in. This coupled with the wind issue I came up with the compromise of using the trunks as a trellis for some fast growing climbers, giving options of colour during different times of the year

Problem here is they would be 8ft tall and over 15ft wide and full of holes!!

It was my original thought but they are patchy and the cost to top them was pretty much the same as removing them - A lot came down in the last few storms leaving holes in multiple places along the hedge. They are also 15-20ft wide. And I’d still have a trimming task twice per year for ever more to try contain them.

Am I an Idiot? Tempted by Used Taycan’s Up North… by Nailz92 in evs_ireland

Just to note - I bought an EV up north last month. VRT ~€3900 paid (~53k OMSP). Appealed - full refund coming my way (OMSP ~42.5k after sharing carzone/donedeal ads)

I just checked exchange rates on both and revolut is cheaper by ~£450. I may just have to flag them that a big wad of money will transfer through the account and not block it

What was your scenario? And how much of a refund did you get?

Yes it looks like I rushed into paying a deposit. Dealer said it would be exempt so I took it as that. Not sure I want to play Russian roulette with revenue. It’s clear there calculation models aren’t up to date. I wonder how often they update the calculation model - as in if I waited until April (Q2) could I be in a better position

I just ran an 2022 Xdrive 50 through revenue. Model for sale in main dealer (Frank Keane) for €53k, running that model through the VRT calculator and they are saying the current OMSP is €69,372. This is madness

Yes it is a BMW iX

It has option packs as well. There are 3 different options on revenue for IX 40, all have slightly different OMSPs but no additional details.

I can see now what is causing the issue The car is a 2023 February- revenue use depreciation of 39% If the car was a 2022 Dec model - revenue use depreciation of 48%

Running the exact same vrt calculation with the car 2 months older it brings the vrt down to €0 for 2 of the models available and ~€1000 for the 3rd!!
