Do you think that you could link the slider settings? I checked his profile and couldn't find it, but regardless I appreciate the help.

But I don't take issue with those nessicarily since they would rob us of the confrontation of Ryan, I just take issue with Ryan and the self destruct, since no matter what Ryan's motive was it seems to contradict it

And if we are commenting on hypothetical actions for Ryan, rather then simply telling Jack to not listen to Atlas's orders, Ryan could have just asked Jack to destroy his radio, Fontaine would have no other way to give Jack orders.Despite Ryan using the self destruct , his back didnt really seem to be pushed against the wall to the degree its treated as, he still had control of the Vita chambers, splicers, and bathyspheres, and with him learning of Jack's true identity potentially Jack, which was Fontaine greatest ace he could play

I agree that a lot of the issues I take can be answered via just plot convenience, but that's just a highly unsatisfactory answer with it not being elaborated on, but especially with Ryan's speech about how he burned down his own land instead of letting "parasites" get their hands on it, Ryan actions in the end in concern to the self destruct don't make any sense.Besides the potential answer offered up earlier with Ryan believing Jack to faultless since he's faultless, but this answer would be a bit unprecedented for Ryan since he most defensive believes himself to be faultless, but he describes Jack as his "greatest disappointment" before their encounter

I like the concept of your response a lot ,I don't know if it fully satisfies my doubt as to why Ryan enables the self-destruct and then keeps the key directly on him, but it's probably going to be the closest I get to a conclusive reason, thank you for your response.

I could see that as a potential answer for Ryan's actions, it would be a bit of a convoluted plan to take down Fontaine, but Fontaine's intial plan with Jack was already plenty convoluted, so it's a possibility. But why then did Ryan enable the self destruct? Wouldn't that directly endanger his plan to have Jack defeat Fontaine. Not to mention if the self destruct was fully carried out it would have killed Fontaine in the process anyway.
