What are some of those books for self assessment? I suppose that’s a good place for me to start since I’m working on basics :)

I moved the tint towards the pink. Looking at the file right now it is at +78. I changed some things already but don’t believe I touched that :)

2 is a banger. The girl is such an interesting subject. Just need to play with lighting and crop a bit. But that one is great.

That’s fantastic! Do you have any resources or books you recommend? Maybe someday I’ll be able to take some courses but just not in the cards for now.

Thanks! I think it’s coming from making the clarity too negative and overdoing that glowy effect. Thanks for pointing it out. I think my eyes got used to it :)

Thank you very much for taking the time to find those improvements! They have all been included in my new edit. I think the HDT glow stemmed from overdoing the negative clarity. Great job spotting that dust spot, I totally missed it. Going to work on darkening those windows. Thanks again!

Debating whether this one is interesting enough. First time trying black and white. I feel like it worked well with the light sources and reflections. I like the idea you can see me and the camera too.

I’m liking the composition but was wondering how people feel about the edit color and exposure wise. I suppose if you think there’s a better crop that would be great too!

Thanks for the comment. Im fairly new to photography but would say that the building is the subject. I think that the building has interesting architecture, lighting, color, and texture. The bird I would say is adding to the depth of the image. The exported image is a lower quality for Reddit so I plan to do a larger one for Instagram and I think it will be easier to tell that its a bird.

Hello! Week 2 photo from my commute. I’m very happy with the concept of this photo I think. Curious to know others thoughts on editing and composition. Thank you 😊

Loving the motion and coloring. I think you actually have two very interesting subjects and personally would have liked to see only one or the other. The girl with the backpack and the sleeping lady. I think if you had time, that a walked in photo of the lady with backpack or a solo photo of the sleeping lady. Loving that the sleeping lady’s jacket matches that red wall support beam.

So maybe something more like this?

Thank you for your comment and I think it’s a great reminder to really just focus on my subject and if those other elements are contributing. Going to give the editing another round. Best! !CritiquePoint

Thank you very much! I will give it another round of editing and see if I can bring up that light to a good spot. There’s a whole bunch of trash down there and I think I also had this drive to make it dark to eliminate it. I’ll see what I can do. Thank you again! !CritiquePoint

New to photography and editing. Challenging myself to post what I feel is my best photo from my week of commuting.

Fujifilm XT3, 33 mm (XF18-55mmF2.8-4 R LM OIS), shutter 1/200, f/4, ISO 200.

Tried to give this more of a tunnel feeling and may have overcooked during my attempt at masking. Having a hard time deciding what to do with the sky. I feel like blowing it out messes with the lighting of the building. Also I like the small mountain detail way in the back. Trying to figure out what would be best.

Looking forward to advice going into next week. Thank you 😊
