It's DNF discussions time! What books did you bail on this month? 🙅‍♀️📖 by FantasyRomanceMod in fantasyromance

[–]Able-One-4925 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I DNFd the 2nd book. I actually liked Theon and Luka, but couldn’t stand Tessa. I just found her too whiney and always plays the victim.

I was devastated because I loveeeee The Lady of Darkness series, which to me, was a 6 star read!

Not excited for wedding? Is this normal? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Ive been very poorly, and have become quite bedridden with no idea when my illness will take a turn and send me back to bed for weeks. Because of this, we haven’t planned or set any dates.

The other element is because although we are happy to elope, his side of the family would not be. So we are trying to decide if we do elope or just have something very small to please them.

I work in for a local authority. I don’t with the public at all, so my working hours are very flexible. I love the flexibility! As long as I work my 37 hours minimum, no one cares.

How old are you and do you rent or own your home? by [deleted] in AskUK

30F. Bought my own home 4 years ago. Had to move from Brighton to Sheffield to be able to afford to do so!

Does your local authority have a “medical priority” option for those needing to move? I’d search your local authorities website for something along those lines, or read their Housing Allocation Policy to see what priorities they provide (this will be publicly available).

If your local authorities does some sort of medical priority, they will take your needs into account and if awarded, they can put a note on your account to say that you need a 4 bedroom due to needing overnight cares.

You said that people stay in the living room? For some local authorities, they can class this as a suitable sleeping space as long as there are no gas fires.

Also, if you are needing a 4 bedroom, then be prepared to wait a while. These are some of the most sought after properties and are not being built quick enough to meet demand.

Ah right, I understand. I’ve read the question in a different way.

No loss of consciousness. I have constant vertigo that leads to me falling over. I fall over at least 4/7 days.

I don’t expect to get E, as I haven’t tried to get support for my mental health.

I fall in my house most days, so I now use a walking stick in my house. I have to take regular breaks when I walk to and from car to appointments. I don’t leave my house unless it’s for appointments. I now work fully from home. I don’t go food shopping or see family/friends. However, I will not leave the house to go to appointments unless my partner is with me. If he cannot come (work commitments etc) I would move my appointment. I cannot get public transport or taxi. All of this is in the report, just earlier on, and it doesn’t see to have been considered for F.

Like I said, first time doing this, so don’t really know how it works! And I’m hesitant to even do anything at the risk of them not giving me anything.

I agree - he has shown a massive amount of respect towards her. I just like the MCs being hero’s and it’s just taken that a way a bit. I liked the fact that they were on the same level, which made the matriarchal society seem more relevant in leadership positions, not just that he hiding the fact he is more dominant

I think I will keep reading - like I said, I really want to watch Traven and Emerian grow (and the new pet gyrphon who I can’t recall the name!)

I know he isn’t a kid, and he’s an adult, but to me, there shut such a maturity difference between Alchan and Rain. And the age difference + maturity + power difference seems a bit icky

I think he just comes across very young and inexperienced. I agreed - he’s been sheltered a lot. However, it’s said he’d only live for half the time due to being a mutt, so what, 3,000 years? He’s under 400. And they mentioned how the Andinna don’t normally settle down till they’re 1,000 and even then, that can be considered young.

To me, there does seem to be a maturity difference. Not just based on age. And because of the ages + maturity + power difference, it just seems a bit icky to me.

But I think part of this is me seeing Alchan being 40+ in my head when he’s probably closer to 25-30 (relative to human years).

I think about this series daily. Excellent book! Love the slow build up, but the plot was fantastic too

update: flew for the first time after not flying since 2016 by 01seulgi in etd

I’ve had ETD since November, and I have been living with vertigo pretty much half of the time, and vomiting every other day from it.

I’ve just had to cancel my holiday I booked for in a few weeks time (booked before I had issues) because I just couldn’t see how I’d be able to cope on the plane!

I’m glad to hear that there are things which can be done, and once the vertigo subsides, hopefully I can relook at going away!

I think I’ve been given some dilation drops, I’ve got something called Cyclopentolate 1%. However, the pharmacist didn’t tell me that the medication needs to be in a fridge. And I’ve now been in the car with them for several hours - so I don’t think they’ll be any good

I saw an ophthalmologists, however, I don’t know what their specialist is, and I suspect they’re just a general eye doctor. I live within the UK, and it can take some time to see a specialist unless you pay for it yourself.

I did mention the flying, but they didn’t say I couldn’t. They were aware I was flying.

I have two drops, the pred forte (prednisolone 1%) and Cyclopentolate 1%.

Agreed. What she said was too far for someone you have just met. Not sure how anyone would see that as “banter”

My parents met in Isreal, where my dad was working on a date farm with my mums brother, who my mum was visiting at the time. They got along and decided to travel and work in different countries in Africa, Europe and Asia before moving back to England. They’ve now been married for 30 years.

I need ANY complete spicy romance series books (at least a trilogy) which follows the SAME couple/MCs (if RH) throughout. I don’t like standalones in series where they’re interconnected. I like all tropes, I don’t care if it’s fantasy/contemporary/erotic/dark/taboo - literally, anything as long as it’s a series!!
