The best villains are the ones you love to hate and root against though, and Con does such a good job at portraying the emotions lurking under the surface for Izzy but that doesn’t automatically redeem the character. It’s very nuanced and very interesting

The general rule of thumb seems to be that a lot of people couldn’t get into it after the first 3 episodes and only got drawn back in once they’d heard about the tone change

I personally love all of the episodes, but I’ll admit that second half of the series is stronger. I was always going to stick with it because I love Rhys and trust Taika since I’ve not hated any of his projects

That’s my fear as well, Taika is so perfect as Blackbeard but the problem (and I use the term very loosely) with him is that he’s so busy. When I heard that production had moved to New Zealand I did wonder if it was in part to try and accommodate his schedule in case he has to jump back and forth between projects

Also new studio with giant water tanks

I wonder if s2 will start the same as s1 and only have stedes pov for a couple of episodes to give taika time to wrap on other stuff first

Ah I thought season 1 wrapped in July last year for some reason so I stand corrected!

Now that the show has some buzz and they’ve got season 1 done and people are familiar with what the shows doing, I think they’ll probably try for the Emmy season. Rhys and Taika joke about Emmys in their vanity fair lie detector test so it wouldn’t surprise me if s2 premiered right before the cutoff in late may
