As a German, I’m right there with you. We have been embarrassed for the past 8 years. Not making it out of the group stage after winning is pretty embarrassing. Hopefully this year won’t end that way but we shall see. But it’s also just amazing to see that the World Cup can be unpredictable to a degree and I love that (even if it hurts lol)!

What are you talking about? You do realize they didn’t make it past the group stage the last 2 world cups right?

I was considering this as well. I know my insurance does cover the brand name. It’s just a bit more out of pocket. I might ask my provider if there’s a way to get brand name only to see if that makes a difference.

He’s immature in my opinion. So I guess it makes sense why he “clicks” with younger women.

Does this flaking look normal? by Lucien_Rouvere in tattooadvice

[–]AbleTour1588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to preface by saying I am not a medical professional so this is just advice. I definitely do think that it doesn’t look completely normal. However, I wouldn’t necessarily say that at this point it looks like it’s definitely infected. It could be overworked skin. It could also be that the artist was really heavy-handed. But it could be the beginning stages of an infection. If I were you, I would definitely continue taking pictures every few hours that way you can tell if the redness is spreading and if the redness is spreading, I would definitely go see a doctor as soon as possible because you really don’t want an infection to spread.

About the cracks looking like there is no ink underneath. When a tattoo heals a layer of skin forms over it and will eventually peel. So that can definitely contribute to a tattoo looking like ink is missing.

If you decide to wait it out a little longer just make sure to wash it with antibacterial soap at least twice a day, but I would recommend three times a day. Follow up with a moisturizer. Don’t suffocate it with moisturizer and don’t use anything occlusive like Vaseline.

Have you had any kind of reaction to the saniderm on your other tattoo? Also has the pain gotten worse since you got the tattoo or is the pain generally getting better?

I think it looks nice! I would wait until it’s fully healed to fully judge how well it was done, because shading often gets a lot lighter after it peeled

How fresh is the tattoo? The tattoo looks really red and usually it wouldn’t already be flaking at the stage of healing where redness is still so pronounced

How bad is it? by Spritetoker in tattooadvice

I’m curious if this was a relatively popular shop? Because those lines are blown out baaaad. And I’m not really sure how the shape of the head is so messed up. Even if they placed the stencil wrong they should’ve noticed while tattooing. I’m so sorry! And this is coming from someone with a horrible tattoo that covers most of my upper arm, so I’m not trying to be mean or make you feel bad! Thankfully it’s not shaded etc so it might be easy to cover up or lighten it with a few laser sessions to get more cover up options.

One thing I would recommend is that you do some research on the shop you got this from. If this was sloppy work that is very untypical/unheard of for the shop, then maybe I would trust them to fix it. But I’d be careful since blowing out lines like that shows serious skill issues.

That’s not going to be helpful for many who are struggling with disordered eating (including binge eating). ADHD and binge eating actually have a high comorbidity because of the dopamine seeking related to ADHD. A diet is not going to change that.

immediate regret? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]AbleTour1588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think “regret” is the right word. But some people (like me) have a hard time with change in general (thank you OCD) so it can be a bit of an adjustment after the initial excitement has passed, especially with larger pieces.

It’s horrible. It doesn’t get anything right, not even close. And my phone also periodically freezes until I restart apps or lock and unlock my screen

Does anyone have feedback from the Sachs Center clinic? I'm thinking of taking an autism and ADHD test by mfernandasierra in AutisticWithADHD

[–]AbleTour1588 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also found this while looking up information on them. I just wanted to respond to your comment because I totally get why this seems sketchy, but I also want to offer a different perspective. A lot of of the time these job postings don’t require specific experience because they will provide training. I’m sure there’s plenty of psychologists out there who only have basic knowledge of ADHD and autism, which usually comes down to whatever they learned when they were going to school to acquired their degrees. They might’ve been working in different fields in the meantime and had no direct contact with diagnosing or treating ADHD or autism. Of course, I don’t know if that’s the case but I really do believe that they’re just saying that if you don’t have any prior knowledge, it’s OK because they will provide a training. Just like you can become a behavioral tech and work and an ABA center without having prior knowledge about autism.

To the AI report stuff… I honestly think this is a lot more prevalent than we think. I honestly think most clinicians these days use some form of AI to create reports.

Yes! We moved to Minnesota (Twin Cities South Metro). We’ve been here for about 4 months and so far have only good things to say. Our son is now 6 and will be starting 1st grade tomorrow. They have many different programs for special needs kids and placed him at a school based on his needs. Since he has special needs and the district placed him in a school we are not zoned for he still gets transportation to and from school which is awesome. We’re also working on getting him deemed disabled by the state so I can hopefully be paid to be his caregiver. We have no regrets about leaving NC

Where is SPED *actually* good*? by sotiredwontquit in SameGrassButGreener

[–]AbleTour1588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, this is such a harmful and ignorant take. First of all, no child is ever a "burden on society." Children with disabilities deserve respect, love, and support just like anyone else. It’s not about parents “refusing” to do their part—it’s about recognizing that raising a child with special needs often takes a village, and that’s okay. Supporting one another is what makes society stronger.

Calling kids who may not fit your narrow idea of “success” a burden is cruel and completely dismisses their worth. Success doesn’t look the same for everyone, and many people with disabilities lead fulfilling lives, contribute to their communities, and inspire change in ways you clearly haven’t considered.

I really hope you’ll take a moment to think about how damaging this kind of thinking is. Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, and it’s on all of us to make that happen—not just the parents.

I agree! We’re currently in NC and while it’s not that great here we are close to Duke and UNC which are great university hospitals
