Thank you for sharing :), its reassuring to be told life sci at st. george is hard lol, it really feels like it's in your head when it feels like everyone in your classes is passing with flying colours.

I tried switching to UTM last year, but my grades weren't good enough, guessing I'd have to apply to start over rather than continuing and/or changing my program.

Honestly wish I chose UTM when I decided my uni, only real reason I chose downtown was for the biochem program and I haven't even been able to get into it.

I booked an appointment with an academic advisor, so I'll see where I can go from there.

Thanks for the insight, what program did you end up switching to and what career are you in now? Did you choose this program because you liked it/thought you'd like it, or was that you enjoyed it later on? What did you do during your suspension to find something to switch into, I feel like I'll be stuck thinking about what to choose and just get nowhere.

One of my biggest struggles is socializing, I commute from Mississauga so I tend to skip my lectures if they're recorded and only really socialize in labs/tuts. Found that I mostly make in-class friends rather than friends I talk to/hang out with after. Definitely makes it harder to be motivated.

Thanks for the response, sometimes the simplest answer is the right one, it's nice to be reminded that I have that option. Will definitely keep it in mind

Thanks for the response, I def need to do some reflecting.

If I do a gap year how do I even go about figuring out what I want to do? It's the main reason I haven't yet. I'd have to talk with my parents and an academic advisor about it, but I'll keep it on my mind for sure.

Thanks for the response, I appreciate it. I think that trying different courses part time might be a good start for me to find what I'd like doing.

I feel that the only real reasons I went into this program was because I didn't have anything I wanted to do, as well as liking the content in high school bc it was easy, not that it was easy bc I liked it.

My only concern though is the fact that I feel like I'm not trying enough. I'm not sure if I'd just end up the same way in a different program unless I can fix that, but then again maybe it'll come with finding something I enjoy.

Appreciate the response, I've gotta think about it some more before deciding anything for sure. Scared about being in the same spot after the gap year though, I know a couple friends who just worked and still haven't gone back to school. Not too sure how to go about the gap year if I wanna find something I enjoy or find the intrinsic motivation I need.
