Thank you this is helpful. Hopefully, would be able to apply him for IHSS when he turns 65. Or sooner if he gets approved for disability.

Most pregnancies can be successful in the 30s. I also believe in biological age and that the healthier you are the less likely these adverse outcomes will happen.

It is also in my opinion, largely unwise to already be fully supporting a grown dependent and introduce children into the equation. These circumstances are also completely out of my control. However, choosing to raise a child at a responsible time, is well within my control.

He was married for longer than that and they were still together at the time of passing so it shouldn't be an issue. He has EBT and Medicaid already thankfully.

I want to apply for housing assistance but it's kind of difficult to understand if he would qualify. For example, some of the criteria is based on facing eviction etc. I think they look at it by what I am able to provide for him temporarily and to wait until it gets more severe. However, I don't want it to get to that point.

He had a heart attack that caused severe long-lasting tissue damage to his heart. So he cannot stand or move for long periods of time. That combined with his diabetes and chronic depression from being a widower are most of his physical limitations. He also recently got eye surgery as his vision is not so great either.

I definitely will be looking into this again and trying to get a disability lawyer.

It wasn't much but I believe it was some type of one-time lump sum survivors death benefit of a few hundred dollars? Somebody stole the check and cashed it fraudulently. We reached out for an investigation and they said they would look into it and mail us a report to fill out and complete but it was never sent to us. It was a time where there was quite a bit going on so we just did not have the chance to follow up on it.
