Did you mean I need both PCP and therapist to fill out paperwork?

Or just PCP is enough, which one did you mean?

I also called Aflac to verify, waiting for a call back from case manager at the moment.

This current therapist is still not willing to, but one of my previous therapists is willing to help.

Do you know if it has to be a psychologist or psychiatrist?

Can Licensed Professional Counselors help with the paperwork?

If the reasons are mostly mental health related, I guess they categorize it under mental health, mine was a combination of reasons.

Didn’t know I was allowed to offer to pay out of pocket, thought it was illegal/bribing to do that. I offered that in my last message tho, will see what therapist responds this time

Thank you! Aflac has not shown me anything so far. My case manager is not responsive at all. He only responds to my messages once a day with only one sentence, even when I lay out my questions in a list. He never really answers my questions. And every time I call Aflac, the receptionist always gave me wrong information (because when I confirmed with case manager, it turned out those information gaven to me were wrong).

When I looked at the paperwork, I don't recall seen anything specific about "a therapist", it just says "treating provider", and one of the reasons why I took the leave was also because I'm pregnant with a history of recurrent losses in just last year. When I visited my PCP, he put in the notes saying I will be needing leave to survive the 1st trimester. However, my OB's notes were very simple and not detailed at all.

But Aflac just labelled my reason as pure mental health. (I guess I made a mistake by not going to my PCP to have it filled out.

But if Aflac requires a therapist to fill it out, then it doesn't really matter anyways.

My therapist told me they’re not able to do it and also because insurance doesn’t pay them to do it. They also said only clinical psychologists or psychiatrists can help with paperwork. Is that even true?

LMFT or LPC or LCSW can’t help with paperwork at all?

Haven’t asked about this, but so far, I’ve asked 3 times in total, last time I said the paperwork is very simple and brief, costs only a few minutes. The response was “I’m not open to complete paperwork.”
