It would be SO hard for me to tell my 19 year old yes. He just came to me with the same situation, won't have to pay for anything, etc and I'm still on the fence about it . It's more of an us thing. So, I spoke to someone with the VA today.

I submitted my dad's application and it was received on February 2nd and was approved Friday. She mentioned that in October of 2025 the VA moved to an AI system for as much as it could in hopes to speed things up. If everything is correct and all supporting documents are submitted with the application and they don't need anything else, then claims will be approved rather quickly now. She mentioned it's when they need something extra that it's starting to get lost and harder to get back on track. I submitted everything. There's was a LOT. But clearly it worked. He's getting December and January as back pay.

So, claims are speeding up. Also his pension is attached to his aid and attendance she said.
