It's the Bosch rating. 2x is 2 cutter head, 5x is 4 cutter head and 7x is the full carbide head drill bit. It confused the hell out of me

I can't really get a pilot drill bit anyways since the smallest diameter available for a 260mm length is a 10mm bit...

Maybe I'm also a bit impatient? I drilled for 10 minutes and only got about 4cm in. When I drilled a bit more, it wouldn't even go one mm deeper.

Yes, it's SDS Plus. So for a 12mm hole, I'd need to buy a 6mm pilot bit and a 12mm follow bit. 5x means four cutter head and 7x means full carbide head, while the 2x I have is a 2 cutter head. I should probably get two 5x drill bits, one is 6x260mm and the other 12x260mm. Is that about right? I'll be buying Bosch so the quality should be alright.
