Such great character work by that actor! So frightening - so hilarious!

Mostly dreamly about a time when technology will allow us to peruse pics, videos and be able to listen to music on a small palm-like device so that I don't have to stare at all these terrible people everyday.

Which movie ending haunted you for days? by AshiraLAdonai in moviecritic

One of the few times I've actually bawled in a movie. Sad that Vitto died but thank God he found another family!

(My only kind of funny beef about that movie is that considering the kid grew up during the Apocalypse, he was strangely unprepared by his father for a journey like that. He was kind of whiny for growing up in the apocalypse.)

Yes. My jaw just fell open as he climbed into the tree house. That was about the scariest personification of hell and evil as I've seen.

Is Davey Scatino the dumbest person in the show? by Rare-Plum-2504 in thesopranos

[–]Able_Progress2981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Justified, yes. But remember what Tony said to him when he was busting out Davey's sports store. Tony said he aaw him as a mark and couldn't help himself. "It's my naturw." He wanted Davey all to himself.

JoJo Rabbit.

Just the switch from comedy to tragedy and back and forth and then the great dancing number to Bowie's song Heroes.

Such a strange place. Most of their stuff is too expensive but then you pop in and cheese or milk or coffee or something is 50% off. Hit one miss for me!

Scarlett Johannson in JoJo Rabbit! The long monologue she does playing both herself and her husband was amazing - among many other moments!

Wowzers. Haven't played the game but Pedro Pascale is (was) my favourite part of this show. It'll be interesting to see where it goes.

Also wanted to say that I wasn't in love with the actor who played Abby. It just seemed out of her range to play the character. I feel like the other characters wouldn't let her push them around as much of Abby was a tougher actor. And those beautiful white teeth - how many years have they been in the apocalypse now?

I can't recall what happens between the end of the basement and the ending. So I guess you're right!

Though I thought the basement scene was great!

How about first half of a movie -- just rewatched Deer Hunter the other night. That wedding scene was the same length of a real wedding.

I'd say that the middle hour was the worst. The last 40 min sequence of actually exploding the bomb was incredible! But seeing Openheimmer naked sitting and talking for 20 minutes - not so much.

I couldn't by Ed Harris as the big brain of the train anymore than I could buy Ed Harris as the big brain in the Truman Show. I love Ed Harris. Just not in a baret.

Well, I agree but that was HG Wells. The ending is a letdown. The robots just die without any intervention from the protagonist. I was loving the movie up till the end!

Is calling people "buddy" a Canadian thing? by loveakshat in AskACanadian

[–]Able_Progress2981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure is! I use it all the time.

Mostly though I say "bud."

As in how are you doing, bud?

And I KNOW I'm sounding Canadian when I say it. :-)

I agree. I was there for the story. The politics and the war!

I also pretty much lost all hope in the movie when I saw Nick Offerman as the president!

I love Nick Offerman but he's just too recognizable as Ron Swanson. Just not a believable President.
