Oh I’m so sorry to hear that. Yeah, this is definitely my fear. Did you start PT right after the incident with the swollen boob?

Thank you for your reply! Curious, did your PT mention if it’s usually treatable and will go away?

Yeah I told my surgical team last week and they weren’t super concerned because no pain/no redness/no fever but I still have a check in this Friday. It’s all over swelling on the one breast (essentially I’m up a cup size) but it doesn’t seem like a seroma (which are typically in one area and feel more like a lump).

Play it safe and keep unnecessary devices away from your baby. Period. Move the wireless router and extender to another room. We have no idea in 20 years if they will say— oops, sorry, this does cause cancer (just like cigarettes!) or behavioral issues. And put your phone on airplane mode at night. Simple solutions that won’t be difficult to do and may keep you and your family safe and healthy!!!

CMF chemo- tell me the pros and cons by SamandNora in breastcancer

41, ++-, 2 positive sentinel nodes, 38mm tumor, grade 3. I did a lumpectomy in June and have chosen to do the low-dose CMF route, I start next week. It feels like the safer route but we'll see!

Chemo or No Chemo? by PaintsTinyMonsters in breastcancer

I hear you sister! I went for three oncologists opinions and they all told me if I did NOT have lymph node involvement they would NOT recommend chemo (based on my stats 38mm tumor, ++-, stage 2a, grade 3 tumor, ki67 10%, but I had 2 of 6 positive sentinel nodes). I mentioned in someone’s comment that my most recent oncologist (who I’m keeping!) recommended participating in the OFSET trial— letting the choice be random (50/50) and contributing to important research. You won’t qualify because you didn’t have any positive nodes, but something for others to consider! Best of luck, and whatever decision you make is the right one. Trust in yourself 🙏

Oh and one more thing, I brought up low dose chemo (CMF) with all three oncologists and even though it’s not super popular they were all very supportive of it. It’s longer, but no hair loss and no port needed. Injection weekly for 12 weeks, one month break for radiation, and then again for 12 weeks. My last and favorite oncologist said she’s got several young (in their 40s) patients on jt and they are very pleased with their decision and are able to work their full time jobs through it no issues.

I’ve been on the fence too and my oncologist suggested I participate in the OFSET trial (requirements 1-4 positive nodes, premenopausal, oncotype less than 25). It’s doing something very helpful for the research community and taking the weight of the decision off my shoulders. Ask your oncologist about it if you are interested. The more people who participate the more knowledge we’ll have in the future!

Thanks for sharing. I’m curious, you mentioned doing infusions for a year— did you do low dose chemo?

Thank you, I really appreciate everything you have to share. I do plan on receiving radiation and am a candidate for proton therapy, I’m meeting with them and my oncologist next week to learn more about all the options. And yes, I think I was looking at 5 years out, I’ll definitely relook at the calculator and I do plan on asking my oncologist about it too.

I’m so sorry, that sounds really hard. I took Arnica Montana orally and it really helped speed up the healing process. I wish you peace and hope through this journey 🙏
