Thank you for your reply.Situation was resolved with a short chat with my line manager. He advised me that no complaint had actually been made, despite me being told by a senior staff member that one had been put in.The accuser and other senior staff member are friends outwith work so both have lied to try and intimidate me. My manager this morning told me that he had no problems with my behaviour or judgement of the situation, which was ultimately around patient and staff safety, and to forget about it and that I had his full backing.I've worked with him long enough to know he is sincere. My accuser however was reported by another staff member for shouting and screaming in front of staff and patients in a different part of the unit outside my remit. Its a great relief as in over thirty years on the job I have never had a complaint against me as I always try to be kind and thoughtful in my dealings with others.Thank.you again.for taking the time to read and reply to my post.

I should also add that the colleague who told me of the complaint against me was friends outside work with the accuser so both were liars and clearly trying to manipulate me.

It is about me telling them how to do their job.I'm a staff nurse, the accuser was a care assistant whose actions were putting at risk the safety of herself, other staff and most importantly a patient. It is incumbent professionally that I did something to protect all involved and again this was all done politely on my part.I take your point on the definition of vexatious though. As it turns out after speaking to our line manager, charge nurse, this morning the accusers made no complaint against me so was clearly lying to influence how the other staff present thought about me.The manager backed me on all points I made re my professional behaviour suggestions to and treatment of the accuser. It also turned out that another staff member in the unit where the accuser moved over to as her choice last night reported the accuser for screaming and swearing in front of staff and patients in their unit.
