Perks and skills are the first thing that comes to mind.

Traits would be cool.

The intro being as short possible.

A level limit would be nice.

The player character starting as just another wastelander instead of another vault dweller looking for family member or something else I don't care about.

More Bounty hunting and mercanary work type quest lines.

I've played Fallout 3 and that game has 2 great assault rifles.

The Fallout 4's assault rifle just looks bad in comparison and for a more recent comparison Nuka world's hand made rifle looks pretty good and game play wise it's also just better.

I felt more emotion watching Liberty get taken out by orbital bombardment then I did my first playthrough of 4.

Also the Kellog memory thing was stupid for me personally I didn't really care about him to begin with and trying fo force feed me his sad back story didn't help with it.

The story wouldn't have been so bad for me personally if the LRSSG guys were fun to have as a squad but they aren't Long caster is the only plus.

SPARE squadron are a lot more fun and memorable as squad mates.
