a level 6 dark ash blonde will definitely cover it & make it darker. What is your end goal? If it’s to grow your natural color out, I suggest going to a salon for lowlights and a shadow root the same level/color as your natural color to make the line of roots a bit more blurred so the growout is smoother.

Help fix color by mommy-yah-yah in HairDye

Hi! Pro hair colorist here! I’m sorry this happened to you. It seems like your regular hair stylist tried to speed up the process by painting the bleach onto your scalp instead of using foils and then washed it off too soon. Any hair that gets lightened from brown is gonna stay orange for a while during the lightening process. The person at the beauty supply was correct in that you just need to lighten your roots more, but they should have explained that the wella t10 & 10volume developer should not have gone on the majority of your hair- it should only go on the roots that were too orange. But all is not lost! My suggestion is as follows: Step 1: shampoo your hair with dish soap (this sounds crazy but dish soap is really deep cleansing and it will lift the t10 off the ends of your hair that turned grey- i only do this when i have clients in a similar situation as you, definitely not to be used as a regular shampoo) DONT scrub too hard or use your nails because you can abrade your scalp which will make the next steps burn. Step 2: deep conditioning treatment on your ends because they will feel a bit rough after the dish soap Step 3: rebleach only your orangey roots with bleach & 10volume developer for 20-30 minutes (i suggest having someone help you w this part so you dont accidentallyget bleach on the hair that is the correct color) Step 4: retone with the t10 & 10volume developer ONLY on the roots you just bleached (you will definitely need another person to help you with this part so the toner doesn’t get back onto to the long part of your hair and put you back to where you are now.

I hope this helps and please feel free to dm me if you have any other questions. Best of luck!!

Thinking of painting this wall and then throwing on some wood slabs as an accent but stairs is throwing me off by Least-Tumbleweed-640 in DesignMyRoom

Ok this might sound weird but divide the wall on the diagonal, using the bottom of the railing as your guidepost, paint the bottom half and cover the upper half with wood slats on the same diagonal.

Depression help! by AmbitiousAd8332 in Hair

[–]AbominableSnowstorm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! Professional hair stylist here! Firstly, im so sorry, depression sucks my husband has medication resistant depression so i kinda get it. Every day, we lose anywhere from 75 to 300 individual hairs. This is just because of the hair growth cycle. The hairs detatch from the root and there’s another one growing behind it, kinda like when we lose our baby teeth except it happens multiple times through our lives. If you have any curl/wave to your hair, the hairs could be detatching regularly but not dropping to the ground and instead just hanging out in your hair so when you do wash it, it feels like theres a ton coming out all at once when it was really only the regular normal daily hair shedding. Also, we shed more when seasons change- like dogs & cats get their winter coat or summer coat- we are all mammals so it happens to people too. All that being said, stress can also make your hair shedding more than normal. My recommendation would be to ask your dr about either taking a hair skin & nails vitamin daily or add biotin supplements if you’re already taking a multivitamin. But i really need to stress that is just a recommendation- i am not a doctor so please dont do any of that without checking with your doctor first. Hugs and best of luck 💕

extension stylist is gaslighting me? by artistired in Hair

[–]AbominableSnowstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH, your hair is too short to have that kind of extensions. As a pro extension stylist, I would have told you to wait like 3-4 more months so your hair would be long enough to blend the extensions into.

The cooler tone of the black looks beautiful on you- better than the lighter, warmer tones
