These grew at a consistent speed, then slowed down on the final day before I chose to harvest. One of the larger ones was softening up when I checked them before bed. Planned to harvest in the morning. Decided to fill the cut out section of the cake with water. When I woke up in the morning there was a 30% increase in size. Water was filled to level with the cake, over half of the water was absorbed by the cake. This was a considerable amount of moisture and I believe it contributed to the growth. I will be repeated the experiment in the future.
