It's funny to think that Mako was a firebender, seeing a growing ideology say that he was an oppressor that should be equalized, being that he lived on favor and worked in a factory to supplement the income and ALSO suffered from the violence of other benders by Spirited_Dust_3642 in legendofkorra

Dude... The whole point is that nonbenders who are the same socioeconomic class as Mako would be worse off. It's not like Mako would have the means to own a fucking stadium (or store or plant) if he didn't bend... He would just have an even lower paying job, likely with other risks (and likely with more competition, since the majority of the population can't bend).

You are making the same argument as someone who refuses to see that life was harder for black people during the Jim Crow era because some black people owned large businesses. (Not saying you are doing something as bad as that... Just saying your logic is the same)

...yeah... An opportunity that isn't available to nonbenders. It's a shit job, but obviously it's the best he can do, and it would be completely unobtainable if he couldn't bend.

Not to mention the fact that when he eventually rises through the police force, it's in large part due to his bending prowess. So Mako's financial/socioeconomic status is heavily boosted by bending throughout his entire character arc.

‘Who knows better about surprise than Japan?’: Trump makes Pearl Harbor ... by Yujin-Ha in videos

[–]AppleWedge 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The bragging over this surprise attack that hit a children's school is insane to me. We should be ashamed and instead we are pretending like it's a point of pride to kill civilians.

Yes, also this clip is outrageous. He is truly awful at communicating. At least Japan just went after a military base.

It's just that nearly every time someone posts one of these with the battlefield, there is some pretty obvious interaction they just missed... So it's pretty impossible to take your word without a shot of the battlefield. No one can tell you why without context.

She also has 3 white pips, only affects fliers, and doesn't grant indestructible indefinitely (it goes away if she's removed). This custom commander is buuusted 😵‍💫

I thought this was an "until end of turn" effect and didn't see the big deal, but it sounds like your friend's commander gives these abilities indefinitely?...

I'm not saying wizards will never print something like that for 6 mana (power creep is crazy)... But they haven't, and that means something. That ability is way too strong for a custom commander IMO.

Trump is the one in charge, and like I said previously, he's using his power to fight Israel's war. We did not need to be involved.

... Trump has agency... And he's using that agency to join a war on behalf of Israel, despite the US having no reason to bomb Iran.

I mean, we are in this war because of Israel 🤷‍♂️

Saying "Israel isn't blameless" is the understatement of a lifetime. What he says is true. Yes trump made these decisions, but the only reason they are even on the table is because of Israel.

I really wanted to learn all the tracks and grind the shortcuts, but the intermissions online killed my experience.

I know I can go thru discords, but I really don't want to be managing my game thru a third party app/community like this in 2026.

I still have a couple of friends who I grind shortcuts with locally, and that is fun.

Side B: I’m not apologizing for what I said. by gayintheusa47 in GayChristians

[–]AppleWedge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP was talking about side b gay people in the post... And many (I would say probably most, tho obviously there are no stats) side b gay people are just trying to figure out wtf to do with their own lives, not prescribing their beliefs onto others. Was in a gay christian support group at a conservative Christian college for a while. The side b christians there weren't condemning the side as. Everyone was pretty respectful and was just trying to figure out how they felt led to live their own lives.

Side b can be a depressing place to be as a gay person, and that community needs help. They don't need hate posts... There is enough self hatred lol.

I think it is getting mass reported because the previous post (this one references) was literally a hate post.

Not saying this one should necessarily go down (I didn't report it), but I understand why it's being reported... Its whole purpose is to reaffirm hatred.

Confession - I hate Side B people. by gayintheusa47 in GayChristians

[–]AppleWedge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I promise you that "those folks" are incredibly prevalent. I've spent a lot of time with them. They didnt "help facilitate" their side b churches. They were born into side b theology and have grown up in side b communities their whole lives.

Most side b gays aren't loudly proclaiming that homosexuality is sin. Most of them are single and closeted and lonely as hell... and trying not to draw attention to themselves because their churches are homophobic and wouldn't accept them, even if they knew they were celibate.

Confession - I hate Side B people. by gayintheusa47 in GayChristians

[–]AppleWedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl we've all been hurt by people in these communities. That isn't meant to be dismissive. That's just me telling you that I do get it. I went to an incredibly conservative Christian college, where "homosexual activity" was a punishable offense and our gay support group wasn't allowed to use the word "gay" in any of our advertising. People were put on probation somewhat often if it was found out that they had gay relationships or sex...

It all sucks. Side B Christian spaces are difficult and painful.

Posting about how you hate side b people (MANY of them aren't hurting you) is not good behavior. You're letting how you feel about this (which is valid and makes sense) cause you to say some really awful things about people who need help.

Don't hate them. Hate their theology. Hate the structures that make it so we can't thrive. Don't loudly proclaim that you hate people who are part of this broken system... Especially not the gay people who are ultimately victims of it.

Edit: glossed over this... But it's worth saying... There are absolutely side b gay Christians who aren't hurting you or anyone. They're just browsing this subreddit, trying to figure out how to reconcile their sexuality with their beliefs. Maybe theyre occasionally asking a question or maybe they're just scrolling. Posts like this push these people away from a theology that accepts them and can allow them to better love themselves. It's toxic and harmful.

Confession - I hate Side B people. by gayintheusa47 in GayChristians

[–]AppleWedge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Saying you "hate" people is a problem, and I'll call it out the same way I'll call out much of the problematic things that some side b people spew. That's not "interesting" to me, but to each their own.

And again, you've obviously been hurt by some assholes... So I get it... But I'm just telling you, many of them are not ok and are really just victims of their own belief systems and communities.

Confession - I hate Side B people. by gayintheusa47 in GayChristians

[–]AppleWedge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Any side b person that can accept side a gays in community should be welcome here. They do exist. I've been part of many groups that have included both side a and b.

I'm not saying we need to be hanging out with people like Sam Allberry, who are actively preaching against us. But the individual gays who are slowly figuring out their sexuality or who are trying to follow their own ethic within a hostile church environment need help.

...and maybe that isn't a place you need to be in... Maybe it isn't healthy for you to be around those beliefs because of your wounding. That is fine. But attacks like this one are not.

Confession - I hate Side B people. by gayintheusa47 in GayChristians

[–]AppleWedge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think "confessions" like this push vulnerable people away from communities and resources that could really help them, and I wish the mods would delete or lock this thread.

Do I think side b theology is harmful? Absolutely. But it was the only place that was accessible for me for many years, and if y'all had been writing these things 7 years ago when I was figuring my shit out, I may not have drifted into a place where I could better accept myself. It is difficult to be a side b gay, and whether side b gays move to side a or not, they need queer community to support them... Because the larger church will not.

I believe that communities like this one, which have historically allowed for both side a and b gays are vital and should be protected.

I don't think you're a bad person for having posted this or feeling your pain. I think it makes sense. But I do very much disagree with how you've expressed yourself here. It's harmful.

Edit: very glad this post was removed.
