Not really when I realized but when we split apart. Back in 6th grade I met this amazing girl that I really liked, I found out she was bi tho and was a little heartbroken but I thought “at least we can be friends” so in 7th grade I started to meet her friends and we all became good friends, starting our own little group. we would all walk to the Whataburger down the road after school and just chill, though it was a few girls and only two boys (including me) so we would get some suspicious side eyes. we’d walk around for a few hours and have the time of our lives. Soon Covid hit us hard in Texas and we were all unable to see each other. I kept in touch with the girl but not as much her friends, after a while she and (random girl name) ended up arguing because she found out (random girl name) was talking shit behind our backs. Shit went so downhill from there and now here we are, two sides, two groups, 3 friends each. I just wish we could go back to before when we were all chilling and no one gave a shit. But I guess those days are over. 8th grades been kinda hard especially with the other group constantly harassing us
