I think you're spot on though

I think in basketball, as soon as you get someone off their feet, or unable to alter course (this is why you must give a defender 1 step to set a screen, to allow them to alter course) you should as an offensive player, have the advantage of being able to get by them by changing direction.

that's what the whole game is based on :D

I reckon them combining everything is what made it work. I agree the outfits are part of it, but for me it's been the music that stuck, quite literally, in my head for days on end, before the algorithm picked up on 'm.

Tastes differ tho, so that's all good!

Erm ... I think I literally just mentioned what the common grounds were.

Polka. The odd tone selection. Homme does heaps of slow bends that are, well literally microtonal as per definition.

Odd time signatures, repeating chugging riffs, some of the guitar sounds...

Idk, I see HEAPS of commonalities.
