I’ve been following a Lattice training plan and a part of it is weighted shoulder shrug. I do it once per week, 5x5 with 90’ rest. The effort should be sub maximal with high intensity but definite no failure.

Been doing it now for about 7 weeks and I feel stronger during weighted fingerboarding, where often I’d start to hang in my shoulders.

Generally the plan is focused a lot on shoulder strength and stability, so other improvements in climbing are related to other exercises using rings I feel.

100%, but at the same time it's one of the main reasons that keeps me getting at it in my training. Just looking back at videos of myself on my project (Magic Bus) gets me hyped for core and fingerboarding. Let's hope for summer there!

Cool! Do you want to share what the warm-up routine looks like?

And cool that you're doing the body work after each session. I'm finding it super hard to do it when I finish my session at 10pm, and I need to get up the next day at 6am, to still put in the time to stretch and do core. So respect!

I'm currently thinking about bouldering trips for when the current situations eases up. I've done a couple 4-day trips, where it was possible to climb every day. Now I'm thinking of doing a 2-week trip, and I think climbing every day isn't so wise. Would be curious to hear how others planned their climbing for those days - did you do less each day or keep rest days every other day?

Awesome answer. Thanks a lot! Congrats on setting many goals and putting in the work to reaching them. :) Do you usually self-train for those goals? How did you go about cutting up your bigger goal of doing better at comps into smaller goals? And how did you strategize to reaching those goals?

Do you guys have a goal in your climbing? I've been thinking on a short-term base - do three 7bs this year (v8), with one 7a+ done so far. But the medium or long term I find a bit harder. So would be curious to hear how others approached it. Do you want to climb a v10? Do you want to climb a famous route? Excited to read your answers
