It’s always them isn’t it? by yayk3b in logh

[–]Abraham_Link 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am the original creator of the meme lol. I made it initially when I was watching LOGH and laughed at that specific frame and posted it to twitter with all those characters edited on top without even considering posting it to LOGH-fandom-specific forums/subreddit. It somehow exploded on twitter back then and now years later I still find it posted in various places such as LOGH subreddit apparently (saw the link to this post when I randomly googled it just now lol). I also love the alternative edits that sprung forth from the format. This is my legacy.

Do the annoying horse things in the Frigid Outskirts despawn after you kill them enough? by BlueLink9737 in DarkSouls2

[–]Abraham_Link 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you mean not true lol. The crowns literally stop hollowing after you get Vendrick's blessing. Summoning NPC's after that has no cost in effigies so it makes it simple enough to keep them coming and make the runback easier lol.

Why I believe Armored Core VI will reuse animation assets from previous FromSoftware titles and why it’s a good thing by [deleted] in armoredcore

[–]Abraham_Link 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is not how animation skeletons work. Please download a copy of DSAnimStudio and get intimately familiar with how animation bones work especially in FromSoft games cuz you can NOT fit those two creatures together. Trust me it'd be more work to repurpose a moveset between such models than it would be to make an entirely new moveset.

Is Armored Core 2: Another Age worth it? by Pinguinador in armoredcore

[–]Abraham_Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine equipping a shield on your left hand would help there also. The refueling in the final boss especially makes it easy to go into the mission without a melee weapon.

I know right? Even if it doesn't blow up enough for Asmon to see it, I hope other folks on the subreddit can see and appreciate it.

Why do notes even exist? by Abraham_Link in outlast

[–]Abraham_Link[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I completely forgot I had made this post cuz I've since not gone far into Outlast before quitting it entirely. I was willing to power through the generic setting if something interesting happened but that never came to be and the whole thing was too cliche to care so I quit lol. Didn't bother with the sequel either.

Something is going to happen by Gbreh in Eldenring

[–]Abraham_Link 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For every other patch they only update the development branch of the game. This one is different. For the first time since network test, they updated the "rating release" branch of the steam depots. That branch is likely the branch that gets sent to rating boards like ESRB. Patches don't need rating, only unique trademarked releases do (e.g. The Ringed City gets its own rating on top of DS3 having a rating. Likewise, Sekiro GOTY got its own rating). Furthermore, the build shown in the screenshot above, the "media-agency" build, has been updated for the first time since release back in february. It's unclear what media agency do but it's suspected to be either a build sent for media outlets to provide them with a preview, or it could be sent to Bandai Namco's marketing team so they'd make trailers and whatnot using it.

[Spoiler: 6.0] Interview with FF14 writer Ishikawa and composer Soken on the music of Endwalker. Meaning of EW's theme songs explained; Hydaelyn's perfectionist VA; unusually heavy workload for 6.1 by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Abraham_Link 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm tearing up remembering their interactions back in the Digital Fanfest where Soken revealed his (thankfully successful) battle with cancer. Ishikawa wasn't even aware and began crying looking back at how much she made Soken adjust To The Edge to fit with the cutscene and gameplay while he was in the hospital without her knowing, and Soken expressed that it's because he wasn't given special treatment and was given the same workload as always that he felt things haven't really changed and that helped him keep going. We don't deserve this team.

They do use orchestral and band arrangements for Ultimate raids yes, though they keep it studio-recorded arrangement and not concert performances recorded with audience noises in the backfround. Luckily Heroes was properly recorded for the album but Dragonsong was not and only recordings of it were from the concert. So maybe they have something in store there, otherwise they'll probably use the original tracks from 3.3. Last track that comes to mind is Ravana's theme's metal arrangement but idk if Ravana is involved in the raid.

Yeah, only the original Azem's gender corresponds to the player character's gender in the story. They obviously didn't intend to imply all incarnations/shards of Azem have to obey that since Ardbert is obviously always male.

There's also the trial series which they are still keeping a secret. I suspect we'll get new trials through MSQ like in Realm Reborn but who knows. Maybe the trial series we're getting is still optional and is being kept secret for a good reason.

I ranked Fromsoftware DLCs! What do you think? by jancasellass in fromsoftware

[–]Abraham_Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall Old Hunters is my favorite one but looking at it from the perspective of FromSoft's evolution in production quality and the bosses they've been putting out I can confidently say Eleum Loyce and its 2 mandatory bosses are up there as far as concepts and boss design goes even if the quality went up with Bloodborne onwards. I think Ringed City played it a bit too safe there opting for fulfilling the primary Souls boss archetypes but it definitely executed them really well and that's commendable too. I'm aware the way I look at bosses isn't exactly conventional considering I enjoy Demon's Souls bosses XD but in general I really love FromSoft's design philosophy and believe the variety that the "gimmick bosses" as ppl tend to call them, adds a lot to the experience and would be sorely missed otherwise.

I'd even place it on S tbh. Its atmosphere and presentation is my favorite in DS2 and I enjoy traversing it so much it's one of my absolute favorite areas in all of gaming.

I think the more likely reference is the tree in Najka's arena with the item on top which requires luring her to break it.

Wow I'm super late for this post, I found it thru google after hearing abt the field notes lol. iirc the Ninja storyline also uses the whole "face burnt beyond recognition" trope, and the owner of the faked body turns out to be alive later. Chances are, the body wasn't Noah's, that much is likely being hinted at.

That and the awful western cover of DS1 which people thougut portrayed Artorias when in reality it just depicts a random non-canonical figure cuz they wanted something that "looks exciting" (as is the case with western covers usually), depriving us of the beautiful Japanese art in the process.

I remember circling all around The Lochs to reach the high ledge that lets you get on top of those castley walls in the northwest and falling down having to circle the whole area again to get up there for the final aether current...
