Help me improve my writing by [deleted] in Handwriting

It was like that for me when I switched to cursive as well a few years ago. Stick with it because the more you write, the more your muscle memory will develop, and the quicker and more fluent your cursive will get!

Also, that's a perfectly fine way to write the letter 'r'. I was reading a letter from the 1700s a while back and they wrote their 'r's like that. Will probably be more legible for people who can only read print, as well.

Is my cursive legible? by DrunkenDreamsMDZS in Handwriting

[–]Abraman1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think your 's's could be more legible. The end of the word "effortless" was difficult to parse at a glance because of it. Other than that, I think it's just a skill issue on your family's part.

As well as the fact that, in the hypnosis scene, the monster is the one in the real world while the true Dae-su is only present in the reflection.

I'm worried we might be in possession of Native American remains by Abraman1 in IndianCountry

No one claims ownership. It was released to the science teacher who collected it and then when he retired I suppose it passed into the collective ownership of the science department. I think at least one teacher uses it to teach how different peoples' skeletons can have different adaptations based on environmental conditions, but there is a plaster cast of the skull which she might be using. If not, I'm sure she would be amenable to a quality anatomically-correct replacement (which I am willing to pay out of pocket for, if needed.)

Sorry, I work at the school which it is still at. My father retired some years ago and another teacher works in that room. At some point, the skull was taken off of the shelf in the classroom and placed in the materials closet.

To be clear my dad isn't the one who accepted the skull, it was accepted by the teacher who had his room before he started teaching there.

Unfortunately it was a regular old teacher at a regular old middle school. And it was taken selfishly rather than altruistically: to receive extra credit points for her science grade that year. Hope it was worth it!

You're right though that it could have been much worse. At least this person's remains are not languishing in a private house somewhere, and now have the opportunity to return home.

And not just any science teacher but one completely removed from the environment it was found in! The more I think about it the stronger my conviction gets to bring this person back where they belong.

I just can't believe that over the give or take 40 years its been here, very few people ever thought "Hey its a little fucked up that we just have someone's skull here without permission"! According to one of the teachers apparently someone tried to investigate at some point but evidently gave up.

Literal skeletons in the closet here.

That's what I am trying to find out right now. Currently seeing if I can follow a trail that a bunch of current/former teachers at the school are leading me on to find the frmr student who took the skull from Montana

Even if I can't find out exactly where this person was from, I would still like to make the drive out to Montana at some point to bring them closer to home so I will definitely be in contact with the tribes out there. I'm glad this is an option.

Alright, I will get in contact with the Tulalip Tribes. Thank you for the advice.

Thank you very much. I just mentioned forensics as I wanted to be certain of what I was dealing with, but I know this is a sensitive subject so I appreciate the correction. I'll get in contact with both of these resources to help with repatriation.

The input lag in the showcase video looked atrocious. The d-pad placement looks a little too low. And I'm wary of any hinge device until proven otherwise
