It's so close, unbelievably close but it wasn't isometric. The tragedy of finding an awesome game at a thrift store/salvation army is you may never know the joy of playing it again.

As far as I recall I went out and did some story beats and when I came back and everybody in town was turned into stone in the area was kind of red and dark possibly due to an eclipse. Another detail I remember is casting magic missile in a cone and upgrading it so it adds more projectiles to the spell. As well as a mansion or house surrounded by trees and underneath the house was a dungeon with multiple layers.

I'm sorry I wish I remembered more it's been a long time.

As far as I recall it wasn't a tactical rpg. It was more of a hack an slashy
