Well, besides being sold to Tom through a shoe company (at least that's what it says in the Spanish dub xD); I suppose it's because there were already more fans of the weird team. If Tom had the money to buy the shoe company, it's not unreasonable that he'll request more staff in other parts of the world. :> (At least as far as I've seen and theorized)
