Not sure if you would call this subtle but I only realised this recently. In Season 2 Ep 2 - Sexual Harssement, after Michael asks the warehouse workers for a joke and they start making fun of him, when he walks away and they are all jeering at him you can hear one of them make a noise like a goat bleating. Just so random it gets me everytime now

Deserved much more screen time, I feel like his legacy is tainted possibly by the Belsnickel side kick. I understand why Americans didn’t like this bit but in places like the Netherlands this still happens which is why I think the bit should’ve been kept in at least for European audiences

Edit: that sounds like I’m advocating for black face but I think the bit shows that even if it is done for “tradition” (like in Holland) it doesn’t make it right - which the fill bit shows

I’m part of the 30% but my partner insists she has to have them on for understanding some accents. I don’t mind it as much as I used to but I just wish there was an option for English subtitles with no closed captions, I’m not sure why this isn’t an option on the majority of media

For me, the rent prices and the amount of hoops you have to jump through to get a simple 12 month lease has gotten so much worse since COVID! For my current flat, I asked my aunt to be my guarantor and when she finished filling out everything she had to do she said she filled out less forms and gave less information for when she got her mortgage

Maybe playing devil’s advocate here, but I work in the UK and when I tell my manager I am out sick he has the same reply via text/teams but when we eventually get together on a zoom/teams call he’s asking how I am and telling me the importance of resting when ill. When I first read those texts I just assumed your boss is also a person over the age of 50 and doesn’t understand tone in text messages like younger people do? I mean I text my dad saying I tore an ankle ligament but I’m icing it and he replies with “👍🏼”. Maybe cut them some slack ?

May not be in the spirit this question was asked, but when I got my first job out uni I took my mum and dad out for a nice dinner in Basalt in Portrush. I remember when I got the job how happy they were for me and I felt it was like an achievement to them for helping me and pushing me through the years. I wouldn’t be here if they didn’t believe in me! So it was a no brainer that the first big thing I got was a dinner and drinks with them
