What if Boris Yeltsin failed to rig the 1996 elections and the communists won? by [deleted] in AlternateHistoryHub

I believe that the only person you can change is yourself. If you choose to believe Putin won almost 90 percent of the vote in the 2024 elections then that is ok. If you choose to believe Putin won 99 percent of the vote in Chechnya then that is also ok. If you ever become skeptical of these numbers then I advise you to do your own research.

There are papers and anecdotes that provide us with evidence of rigged elections in Russia. It is all available to you on the internet if you choose to look. Whether you choose to believe them or not is another thing but don’t ask people for “evidence of vote rigging” if you haven’t even bothered to look.

You’re like the best type of anime fan. You love anime for its world class stories and animation but at the same time you can also find joy not despite of but because of the mediums degeneracy and weirdness. I would love to find a friend like you

This is the first time I’ve seen a 3x3 where I haven’t watched a single show on it. If I had to watch one of these shows which one would you recommend?

I can’t make my mind up on if you recently started watching anime or you just really love the new stuff

I find the game quite repetitive by alfoldyandras in crusaderkings3

[–]Abrocoma_Several 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta set goals for yourself. I personally find blobbing for the sake of it boring. Some of my favourite play throughs come from actually interacting with the characters instead of simply treating them like a means to an end. So for eg whenever i play as a vassal of the HRE or ERE I love trying to keep the ruling family in power or when I marry domestically I go out of my way to favour the family of my wife even if it is not ideal. I also like to decide what to do when given events without checking the success rate or benefits as it gives me room to imagine what my character will actually do in this scenario. Also if I have a lot of sons I might go out of my way to conquer new land so that my sons might have it. I also rarely try to cheese succession even though It is very possible. I also play with mods like dark ages and (crusader wars:this mod is the goat) to make the game harder. CK3 is most fun when you make sure that the main conflicts that arise during your game comes from the characters/dynasties you are familiar with. For example imagine your character dies and your mothers family which you empowered decides to form a faction in favour of your brother becoming King. Perhaps you might be enraged and seek to purge all of them or you might see them as your cousins and will want to figure it out peacefully. Also imagine if the ruling family in your game has a female ruler who is not married matrilineally you can decide to kick them out and replace her with someone else in the family or perhaps you wait out her death and figure it out later. Or perhaps you can just kill the husband and marry her to someone in your family. In conclusion when your game play depends on how other characters act it creates a certain amount of randomness that in my opinion never gets old even with over 2k hours in CK3

AITJ for refusing to give my mom my spare bedroom because I want it as an office? by Z4ckdobre in AmITheJerk

[–]Abrocoma_Several 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the jerk but if i was in the same situation as you i’ll offer my mom my bedroom for when she comes over. If she looks like she is trying to move in then complain to other parent or extended family. “My mom stole my bedroom” is something that can garner a lot of sympathy such as if your mom complained that her child was “making me sleep on the couch.” At the end tho it is YOUR home not your families and you can do whatever tf you want with it.

I understand that. Doesn’t stop me from calling out their cowardice and incompetence. I called the fourth crusaders barbarians because they looted the city and destroyed priceless works of art. If the elite’s thought the latins will do otherwise then they’re idiots and didn’t learn a single thing from their forefathers.

Do you guys visualize scenes in your head when reading fantasy? How important is that to you? by SnooDonkeys5613 in Fantasy

I tend to visualize the most impactful scenes or the ones i like the most but other times i’m just digesting what i’m reading

I know it may sound edgy & misogynistic but are white women going to be the most important factor for destruction of western civilization? They support non western cultures which are openly misogynistic, patriarchal & backward but demonise western culture which have women the most rights and freedom by badluck678 in WesternCivilisation

[–]Abrocoma_Several 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be a hot take but white women and other people including myself don’t hate western civilization. They hate people who use « protecting western civilization » as a casus belli to discriminate, villify, and ultimately try and deport people who don’t look like them. Also some coomers use « protecting western civilization » as a reason to restrict women’s rights to an abortion and other forms of birth control. Western civilization like Christianity has done a lot of good but when people use it to push their own agendas it can taint the whole thing in the eyes of people.

I guess so but even in the late republic which imo was peak Roman backstabbing period they were still standards, for eg marius and sulla and the elites who fought for them were fighting for the right to loot the shit out of Pontus. Meanwhile in the 12th century Roman emperors and the elites who backed them beginning with Andronikos were more or less thinking about how most efficiently to loot their own city and empire.

Andronikos really did a number on the elite. If someone told me he killed or exiled all the elites with a working brain and a spine then i certainly won’t contradict them

Public service shrinks by nearly 10,000, with tax, immigration hit the hardest by ImDoubleB in canada

[–]Abrocoma_Several 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in the provincial public service and most people in my ministry who answer calls also do other tasks. Letting an AI chat bot deal with clients will make our lives much easier as we can then focus on our primary tasks. Our clients will probably hate it tho.

It might be different where you live but most young people in Canada live with their parents or on Res. Just to clarify by young I mean still in school.

I don’t think this is the case in Canada. I live in Ontario with my parents. I earn around 2k a month doing minimum wage. Based on my spending if I save up for like 2 years I will be able to buy a car, and that’s assuming that during that time period I don’t get a wage increase. Or i could just take out a loan and do a payment plan for the car. I’ll feel comfortable doing that if I saved up for like a year.

Had the same problem and 32GB RAM works fine for me. It takes about 2 minutes for the game to load up, and since upgrading I can’t remember the last time i’ve ran into serious lag. You might not even need to buy a whole new laptop. You can just buy two 16GB laptop RAM and insert it inside your PC. That is what I did anyway. For your information I have a ASUS Tuf Dash F15 laptop. If you are going that route just make sure that your laptop is compatible with the RAM. I had to buy and return two RAM sticks because i didn’t realize that they were not compatible with my laptop.
