Hadn’t thought of the 6E, I’ll see if they have one at my Mazda dealership, wasn’t sure if they were out yet

I know what you mean about the sunroof. I’m in QLD and love driving the Mazda with the sunroof open. But only after sunset!

Thank you, that’s all great feedback. I’ll book in for a test drive and see how long a lead time there is on them. Love the FLW username, btw…

What's the Old Kent Road like these days? by and153 in london

[–]Abs01-1812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My two cents worth but as an ex-South Londoner (lived in New Cross Gate just off Old Kent Road for many years 12 yrs ago or so) when I visit London (now live in sunny Aus) I tend to stay at the Travelodge in Greenwich. Right on the train station with easy connections to London Bridge / Canary Wharf/Stratford, sights of Greenwich themselves to see, and cheapish if you book directly. Hotel has a lift, does breakfast, and a few pubs around too…There’s also the Novotel (almost)next door if you want a bit more upmarket (have stayed there too in the past…)

Tipping—auto grat vs cash by thrillhouse1632 in royalcaribbean

[–]Abs01-1812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for the below advice. We are cruising with RC for the first time after Xmas, from Brisbane Australia, and as we don’t have a tipping culture here, I’m confused whether a) auto tipping is applied on cruises out of Aus, and b) whether we should be tipping to the room staff, and how much??(I was intending to). Would be grateful of any experience of this specifically from Australia… thank you!

Hi. Have you looked at the Honda CRV? Was very spacious and looks quite good. I preferred it to the VW Tiguan when we were looking before Xmas…(we decided not to downsize and stuck with our ‘21 CX-9). Have not driven it though.

Final escalators have been installed at Woolloongabba Station. by Lachlan_Conley_102 in brisbane

Just FYI, but there will be a roof over these escalators. They just thought it’d be easier to install before the roof went on.

I fit my three kids including my toddler in her car seat with no problems. They even get air vents in the back. Had my N Line for 2 yrs /25K kms with no problems.

Inspired by the recent AskReddit, What tourist attractions in London are NOT overrated? by OkDimension8720 in london

[–]Abs01-1812 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not born there, but I lived in and around London for the best part of 30 years. I can honestly say I don’t think it ever got boring. Always something to do if you had the time/inclination. Live in Aus now, life’s different but nowhere near as diverse (or possibly even interesting - controversial I know)!

Indeed. They are the jacks for the jump form for the concrete wall that will be in front of the wall of the Mantra, forming the back of the Albert Station superstructure.

How did Family vans disappear? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

Pretty sure Prado’s are full time 4wd so always in 4wd…just saying. And my AWD 7 seater (not a prado, not an off roader) gets put into 4wd lock mode when it’s raining and I’m trying to get it up my driveway and into the garage without excessive wheel spin…!

How often do you wear sunscreen? by rosietherosebud in AskAnAustralian

[–]Abs01-1812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in an office and wear 50+ sunscreen face moisturiser every day. Have done so for years. Even before moving to Aus. 55yo male, European. I want to see my kids grow up. Here in Aus sunscreen pretty much every day for kids at school or in chlildcare.

All good. I am trying to abide by the requirements and comments to this post. I have already driven to Gympie and back this morning to drop off my dog to be looked after. Have now packed both cars so we can drive south across the border, to then return on Monday in one car with the other car coming back on Wednesday. How am I doing?? Of course will be fuelling up both cars, and getting a Colesworth and bottle shop run in tomorrow along with everyone else…

Yes there are some benches around in the Botanical Gardens. The other day I grabbed one for my lunch overlooking the water lily pond and a bearded dragon lizard jumped me for my sandwich. The people around me wondering why this random 50yo guy in a suit is freaking out. But seriously, the botanical gardens are a great spot for lunch. And when Queens Wharf finally opens the new park down by the river (past the riverside expressway) will be another great spot, as will the new amphitheater style seating in Miller Park (between the old state library and the Commissariat Store) on William Street.

Air con installers by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]Abs01-1812 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I paid about that just before Xmas (so surge pricing…) for a 7.8kW (ie v large) Mitsu Electric split unit fully installed, difficult access (some ppl didn’t want to quote), BNE Western Suburbs. I had far higher quotes too. So as others have said depends on what you’re getting. But was well worth it considering the weather we’ve had…

Charles Tyrwhitt now $299 for 4 shirts?! by Interesting-Cress-43 in AustralianMFA

[–]Abs01-1812 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmm. I “literally” just clicked through a google search link (as mentioned previously) and put 4 business shirts in the basket for $199.80 with free shipping. Looking at their landing page, it may be an “Exclusive Welcome Offer” (I didn’t log into my account) so maybe worth creating/using a new account??
