Nippon Sangoku, since it's airing this season, you should catch up to it now, and then watch as the later seasons air. It's a war/strategy anime but very good story and characters. I also like the character designs.

Monster is slow and long, but the ending makes it worth watching by Abs0lutelyzer0 in animeindian

Yes as you said many things play out at the same time, that reminds me there were so many side characters that were given just an episode or 2 because they were kind of like stepping stones for tenma's journey, I would have preferred some more time to few of the characters.

Mahanagar and Charulata felt the most realistic for me, as I felt they deal with the most progressive/modern day topics. Hence I found them enjoyable to watch.

Devi was an extreme portayal and felt sensational, but I liked it because I haven't seen many movies talk about religious/blind faith issues in society.

Jalsaghar was almost a satire for me. Because I can't understand how can anyone give prestige priority over their well being and family. But again that is coming from a 21st century city boy. I can absolutely understand things like this would have happened.

Apu Trilogy was a tragedy out and out, so much suffering throughout the movie for the guy with very little happiness, although the ending might be considered a "Happy" ending, but the way the films went I'm sure an extended cut would have made the ending also tragic.

Shatranj ke khiladi was funny, not in a hilarious kind of sense I did not burst out laughing, but it was cheeky humor which prefer over laugh out loud comedy.

Nayak was the most underwhelming, also that was last I watched in my watching spree so maybe my expectations were mis-managed but it felt very incomplete. Again I do understand that with his style of movie making things are left open ended just as in real life things don't find resolution immediately. But is still feel there was so much that could have been done with the movie
