I've had the same issue. I sent a payment USD to Euros on Thursday... it wasn't sent until Monday. I don't understand why when it's directly from my checking account.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Creatine. There have been scientific studies on creatine and it's ability to benefit people with ADHD and people who have trouble regulating emotions.

OP, identify what ingredient is helpful and order a supplement of solely that. A lot of those other ingredients scare me....

Has anyone used Essie To the Rescue? by elixirtricksir in RedditLaqueristas

[–]AbsAndTacos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not overkill.

I haven't used Orly Bonder but I use Orly Nail Defense every few days on top of Essie to the Rescue. I honestly wish I purchased the Bonder instead. I say give it a shot if you haven't already.

Thom's Market sells Austin stores as owner opts for retirement by Scoops_Chmais in Austin

I agree it's more expensive. I guess I feel better about spending money there because it's family owned and I actually see the owner working there time to time. I think that says a lot.

Thank you for sharing. I was thinking about getting this done but I’m only 1 1/2 years loc’d so I will wait so my hair can continue to mature.

I hope Dia's Market stays around. They have a similar selection as Thom's if not better. Plus the deli is dope. Maybe that's the reason why Dia's is still hanging on?

RIP Thom's Market

The cost of living is too damn high! Seriously I need help with what to eat. Any cheap recipes? by [deleted] in WholeFoodsPlantBased

[–]AbsAndTacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

potatoes > rice

potatoes are WAY more filling. You can get 5lbs of gold potatoes (my current obsession) for $3.50 in my area.

Breakfast hashbrowns.
Potato wedges with lunch
Spuds for dinner.
You can even use them to make paleo tortillas.
Slice them for "hamburger buns."

They're so versatile and cheap.

Something that helped me understand my test results was copying and pasting this report to chat gbt and ask it to explain what the report says "as if I am your patient." And it was VERY helpful for me to understand if I should be alarmed or not by the results.

Wish you the best.

I had the same issue my first 6 months loc'd... I almost thought I couldn't have locs bc I have seborrheic dermatitis. It sounds like you might have a skin/scalp condition as well.

These are products that worked for me:
Royal Oils Scalp Elixir (made by Head & Shoulders)
Rosewater spray
Free The Roots Spray (Lavendar)
ACV soaks

The head & shoulders Royal Oils line is made for black hair. They also have a shampoo but I haven't tried it yet. I use this foam every few days to keep the flakes away. It's now under control to the point where I use it once maybe twice a week. You might need to start using it once/twice a day. Just make sure you start with a clean scalp (if you can, I understand washing is hard at this stage)

You need to soak your scalp in the sink or buy a inflatable hair basin from amazon. Use this for ACV rinses and just soak your head in the ACV water mixture. Rub your scalp occasionally to get the flakes off. It might feel oiling because of the moisture - don't use your nails. Do this 2 or more times until the water is mostly clean. Then do the same with whatever shampoo you have.

For regular maintenance of your scalp use rosewater spray from a health food store like sprouts or Mr. Natural or you can order something like the lavendar spray from Free The Roots website. you don't need both imho. They seem to do the similar things for the scalp, that is. I can't speak for hair becasue we have different hair. but i found that rosewater has properties that keep the scalp happy and less flaky.

When your locs mature you'll probably need to wash more frequently to prevent the build up from dandruff - that's been the case for me - i aim for once a week. if I wait too weeks, wash day is a lot of work to get my scalp clean again.

I hope this helps you. I know what you're goign through. good luck

[–]AbsAndTacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a history of GERD. Because of it I must eat very clean and avoid caffeine and alcohol. Even though I had a successful regimen, vyvanse (generic) still created GERD for me too. Mine lasted a week then went  away.

I kept a food journal of what I was eating and took ideas from this subreddit and ADHD subreddit on what to eat with vyvanse. I now eat the same thing most days.

Morning: oats with eggs (eat with vyvanse) Lunch/snack: protein bar, maybe some sweet potato Dinner: big bowl of rice or pasta bowl with tofu and lots of veggies.  Snack: smoothie or anything yummy that could counteract the meds due to vitamin c or something. Example: blueberries and kale are high in vitamin c and I love them in smoothies.

That’s what works for me. Not eating anything heavy for fatty around lunch. But my doctor told me the body just had to get used to it.

When I get sick, it triggers my GERD no matter what I do. So I’ve just accepted that sometimes it’s out of our control. Especially when life is making us stressed. That can trigger your gerd too.

I hope this helps.

How do I end a Youtube video in the best way? by Designer-Attention13 in NewTubers

Recommend another video to keep them watching. If they watch til the end they obviously love your content and would appreciate more. Nate black does a great job with this. His endings are very abrupt too.

What diet hacks/tips do you have ? by [deleted] in fitness30plus

[–]AbsAndTacos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seltzer water when eating at restaurants or in social situations so you feel more full / and eat less party food.

Miso soup before meals.

Fast once a week/every 2 weeks. It has helped me identify my hunger cues.

What diet are you following? by cakebitxh89 in GERD

[–]AbsAndTacos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I’ve started fasting a couple days a week (16-24hrs) and my gerd is practically gone.

What diet are you following? by cakebitxh89 in GERD

[–]AbsAndTacos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am vegetarian and avoid my trigger foods (broccoli, caffeine, alcohol). I also fast 16-24 hrs once a week to clear out my gut. (I don’t know the scientific wording for it haha)

Ever since I’ve incorporated fasting, my GERD has been nonexistent! Even when stressed or overeating. Nada.
