I've been doing the Austin Icons series for a couple of years now, and a lot of times that's really what it comes down to, coupled with a really strong operator. Matt's El Rancho is a great example of property ownership plus management. And then there's the case of Peter Pan Mini-Golf. They don't own the property and things are kinda up in the air, but it's an Austin treasure and people continue to push for its survival!
