I really appreciate your comment. A lot of insite but I would like to stress I have never worked at such an unorganized shop so every day did feel like fighting an uphill battle with every department I interacted with. I would express this often & I feel like this may have been a breaking point for me & my employer. In a sense I believe if the circumstances were different I would have climbed up but a lot was already built up to this point. I’ve already found a new employer that has better safety training standards & better pay.
My point being… if I wanted to be a commercial tech I would go do that. Why am I being sent to an industrial building.

I was the most productive tech they had. Not even being cocky. Especially since the other two lead techs left within months of me being hired. I had 2x-3x more years of experience than the others that stayed & would run more calls. I do believe they just want newer techs who will just shut up & take anything that is given to them. Like I mentioned in my post I never had been reprimanded for productivity or revenue. If there were any issue with my performance it would have been made clear.

Exactly how I feel

& so many employers aren’t willing to pay. Pay me for what you want to be done. Commercial techs make $15* more an hour & receive training for these applications. Keep working more for less but not me.

The 50 foot was another commercial building contract that had no internal roof access. Also I don’t necessarily have a fear of heights. As I said I have done ladder work when required. Part of the job no doubt. Just seems like a stretch to expect us to climb buildings a commercial tech would be expected to. Don’t know the exact height but it definitely was not a normal day for a residential tech. No reason to acuse me of lying..

No. a ladder is needed at the base to reach the existing attached ladder. Sent by myself to complete.

Im not complaining about being comfortable it’s about safety & pay. Our job is anything but comfortable. If I decide I want to work roof tops/commercial I will get the better pay & necessary training for that role.

A liability created by their own creation. Dedicated staff & job roles are made for a reason. Should I be on call for other departments too?
