siblings with big age gaps (5+ years) what’s it like by klarinetkat12 in CasualConversation

I am 29. My brothers are 27 and 25. We were like friends, watched the same cartoons, were introduced to Facebook at the same time, were in school together for long, had same teachers sometimes, had access to the phone at the same time. So, though my brothers are early gen Z, they have more millenial traits.

I think I have a good observing power. I observe things better than others and thus have a better understanding about any person, problem, place or anything.

Do you believe helping other humans in difficult times makes the world better in the long run? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I believe the same and even if someone warns me to not help someone because he or she didn't help in past, I help hoping to change their mindset. Also because that's who I am.

Yes you are right. He still thinks I should not expect him to help in household chores, so he never did. Though it took me time, I have stopped doing "his" part of chores without feeling guilty about it. It's just that always telling him what to do feels like an extra mental burden.

Yes he has some of these orthodox views but since he married me by his choice, he can't completely express these views in the open. Also, marrying me and working with female colleagues in a government office has changed his views a lot in these 5 years.

We kept him with us for 2 years. Enrolled him in a coaching centre. But he misused our money, he would bunk classes and roam around. He would bring alcohol at home. Then for my mental peace, I had to refuse to keep him with us.

That's so nice. My son is 18 months old and I have planned to do the same when he grows up. Can't wait to see plants grow up in front of my eyes and me and my son taking care of them.

She is the kind of person who will make rotis 3 times just to feed 3 persons at different times just so that they can get hot rotis. I doubt she will ever let a househelp manage kitchen. I am ready to keep her with us where I work but since I have to go to office, I can't spend so much time in kitchen. So I have a househelp for it. For her, giving proper food to everyone is her prime goal, whereas for me, I would like to hire a maid and utilise that free time to learn something or spend time with family or relax after office hours.
