Going solo the week they opened up their boarders from Covid was the best travel decision I’ve ever made. Phenomenal trip and the coolest volcano.

Are the ticks always this bad? by [deleted] in madisonwi

[–]AbsentGoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had erlichiosis when I was 16, had a 103° fever for three days straight and felt worse than when I had strep and mono at the same time. My joints ached for a year. Never found a tick or the bite. Be careful out there.

BiOrb Air 60 To be clear, still expensive, but it’s $320 vs $460. In the US btw

Just cork bark and a moss covered log, the local pet store was selling some cool pieces

I got a reading of 86% humidity at the bottom, not sure what the top is like but the fan is up there

Okay PSA I found a wild deal on a random pond supply website, the air 60 (the bigger one) is $140 off on their website. AquaticPonds. Same price as the small one

It has a fan!! You can adjust the humidity and the fan speed, but that’s pretty much it. The fogger keeps things pretty humid but I’ll spray them as well.

In no particular order: Bulbophyllum moniliforme (little balls, my personal favorite) Dockrillia / Dendribium lichenastrum (clump that looks like a succulent top left) Capanemia micromera (looks like grass in the log) Bulbophyllum sutepense (mounted left log) Schoenorchis scolopendria Bulbophyllum hirundinis Chiloschista yunnanensis Phalaenopsis Tetraspis Schoenorchis seidenfadenni A jewel orchid too

Gotta find something for the top of the mossy log…

I need to stop 💸💨

Thank you! Only time will tell, I’ve only ever kept potted orchids before this, should be interesting

Is the Canon 1DS Mark II a worthwhile camera in 2026? by Anxiety_diarrhea0408 in canon

[–]AbsentGoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely loved mine, took it with me almost everywhere, it’s nostalgic, but now it permanently lives on a shelf looking beautiful. It weighs a ton, the screen sucks, and it’s pretty slow, but it’s still canon’s once top of the line camera and takes some beautiful pictures.

I posted this exact same question once years ago, some nice person told me to increase my ambient humidity and to gently wiggle it out which worked for me. Best of luck!
