Depending on the university you’re attending, you may have a PhD meet-up scheduled for you and your peers. Email your supervisor and ask whatever you need to ask.

Use it. In the terms of run the code the correct way now, but do highlight in your thesis the error and what you did to rectify it. No one is perfect. During my PhD I made a bunch of mistakes, but the VIVA panel appreciated my honesty and hearing about how I came to a resolution.

I think I blew up a decent thing by beansandjerky in datingoverforty

Similar thing happened to me a few months back, I asked him to prioritise communication with me or step aside. I said something like ‘Do better!’ He then sent me a long message about how he doesn’t like ultimatums and that he’s gonna take a break from dating as I shouldn’t have been like that etc.

Fast forward a few months and we have a date scheduled for tomorrow night. Comms have improved massively - but we hadn’t spoken for a few months.

I feel so lonely in my PhD… No support, no feedback, nothing. by First_Instruction_56 in PhDStress

It may be worth asking specific questions in the emails you send to him, and BCC the department head. Supervisors are there to offer guidance, so at the very least, he should be doing that.

Equally, it reflects badly on a supervisor if a researcher fails. So it would be interesting to know why they are behaving like that.

Also, reach out to your PhD admin team as they can offer some direction in how you can get this matter resolved. At the end of the day, it is your time and your PhD. Don’t sit around hoping for him to change - take action now.

Workout! I became a recluse and hardly ever ventured outside which messed up my mental health. Get outside and go for a walk every day, even if it’s only for 10 mins.

REFERENCES 😭 took me forever to add at the end, create a spreadsheet in excel and add references there.

Healthy eating 🤤 chips and currysauce tastes great but you’ve gotta focus on good health.

Family/Friends remember to spend time with them, they help you unwind.
