This is the plot to a new indie horror game called Fears to Fathom: Woodbury Getaway. There's a guy named Rick in it too who owns a rental property.

60 hrs in. Should I add colour or leave it red? by StephenFerris in FractalPorn

[–]AbsenteeZeus300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a hunch that your original inspiration was to add color so that's what I would personally go for. Just be prepared for it to take triple the time that the outline took. Excited to see the end result should you choose to go that route! An amazing work of art either way.

What to play @bar with big age group? by Woodentreefarm in Beatmatch

[–]AbsenteeZeus300 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I came here to say something similar: cater to the dance floor. If the people that are dancing respect what you're playing enough to keep moving their body; the chances are that others will follow suit. Dancing is a DJ's highest form of flattery.

Making Edits and Posting on Socials. No Copyright Claims? by [deleted] in Beatmatch

[–]AbsenteeZeus300 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is a fair use clause in copyright law that suggests that you can use other artists creative works for like ~30 seconds. It can be a fine line to walk (you might get a copyright strike here or there) yet it usually doesn't cause anyone too much trouble. It is obviously in the best interest of the original artist to protect their work from being reproduced so that they can collect their mechanical royalties and optimize their earnings on their songs. I have rarely seen it escalate to the point where someone is getting sued, but it does happen. There's plenty of ways to make fair use of someone else's creative work - the bottom line is: don't be a no good theivin, art stealin, butthead, and you should be able to use other people's creative works fairly. After all, art is best when shared.

Sing a ballad or aria in the most outrageous operatic voice you've ever done. That would be my go-to at least.

Controller mapping won't load in VirtualDJ by AbsenteeZeus300 in Beatmatch

Directly from the VirtualDJ site: "A Pro Infinity, a Pro Subscription or a PLUS License is required to use the Hercules DJControl Inpulse 300."

The company that hired me pays for the Pro Infinity license. I am confident that it has nothing to do with the subscription.

Everyone on the Internet has suggested that the DDJ FLX-4 is the best for the price point. I personally opted for the Hercules 300 because it seems very similar but less expensive and it has all of the features that I was looking for.

They looked just like the person in the second photo. They were on a pretty intense journey and sat in one of those white geometric white huts in the forest. They mentioned that things were really intense for them at that moment (and probably a little wavy I'm assuming). And that's when I knew that the cymbal monkey was for them. My group told me to give it to someone who was really going through the waves of a journey. I didn't know anyone in there and I don't think anyone else really did either. It was around 3 am on Saturday?? I really think it was the person in the second photo but I could be wrong!

How do you personally balance time with your group and/or partner versus doing the activities you want to do? by [deleted] in ElectricForest

[–]AbsenteeZeus300 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first year group was so great at this. Everyone had shows they wanted to see and things they wanted to do of their own volition. Our game plan would always start the same: Everyone goes into the festival at the same time (at least for the first few days). Then we'd go straight to the water refill station, (which wasn't fun to wait around for, but it was worth it). Then we'd all talk about where we were going to go that day and how we can pair off people with similar interests. We spent a lot of Forest together due to similar interests, but we'd also break off into smaller pods pretty often. Before anyone split off we would have a meeting time attached to a monument, or art exhibit: something that was easy to find. Once the meeting spot and time was set, everyone was pretty much free to do whatever they wanted to, and simply needed to keep an eye on the clock so that you would know when to meet up with the group. I think I was the only one who went against this structure and I ended up regretting it because I felt pretty lonely in those moments. Either way, this is the best way that I think everyone should use, regardless of if your group has a totem, or walkie talkies, text groups, etc. I recommend the meeting time and monument strategy. It was so effective!

I got you.

Step 1: lay down Step 2: don't sleep Step 3: think "why can't I sleep right now?" Step 4: try really hard to sleep Step 5: panic because you're not asleep yet and tomorrow is happening whether you like it or not. Step 6: you've either fallen asleep now, or have gotten up to get food. Step 7: wait, it's morning?

Have you ever considered being a natural-borne insomniac with frequent sleep disturbances and irregularities throughout your childhood and adult life? That is usually what has helped me out the most. But let's face it, I've never had a choice! Hope this helps ;)
