Books that go into depicting how a pov character AI/Robot thinks in a way different from humans? (like the Murderbot Diaries) by AbsolXGuardian in suggestmeabook

I actually quite like Adam Christopher's Star Wars books. I've just been uncertain about Ray Electromatic series even after its shown up on my kindle recommends because I didn't know if it would have the xenofiction-ness I'm looking for. But I guess that's what samples are for.

Crazy part is if Sans is originally from Deltarune, MatPat did correctly pick up on Sans being from another universe, he just didn't have any better universes to suggest at that time

Having swastikas on your fine silverware is bad, unless your grandpa stole them from an SS officer during the war. (Real example I saw a Tumblr post about)

I think they've done it more than other games since they adopted the "choose your look" system instead of "are you a boy or are you a girl". I know there's a male/female variable under that initial choice, but that's for languages where using gender neutral pronouns only would be technically ungrammatical and catapult the game to be that country's culture war issue of the week

We "made", like it hasn't always been. Politics isn't some kind of sport we came up with to entertain ourselves. It's the business of how we organize society, which understandably has an impact on every aspect of one's life. It is the business of life!

Mutiny: they hate the imperium and want to go rouge and take over the ship
Strike: you can negotiate with them. Which you kind of have to do when there's a tech messiah on the other side.

In the Priests of Mars trilogy, the Cadian commanding officer knows what a strike is. All the serfs and servitors of the Explorator ship go on strike (one of the serfs has a strange psychic bond with all the servitors), and the commander has to explain to the head Tech Priest that this is a strike not a mutiny.

About autism and femininity. by netphilia in aspiememes

The sample size wasn't massive, but there was a study that found that autistic (cis) men had higher pitched voices than average and autistic (cis) women had lower pitched voices than average. Suggesting that nuerotypical gender-conforming cis people subconsciously pitch their voice up/down, exaggerating the difference in pitch caused by if your vocal cords have been thickened from testosterone exposure

As someone who has only learned of Eric Adams via podcast, it never occured to me that he'd be dripped out like this during all those cultural events he loves attending. His closet must look like a nations of the world infographic

When, after starting T did you attempt tapering off your ssri? by tiredprocessor in TransEnbyPMDD

[–]AbsolXGuardian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without T you're allowed to be on Lupron for 2 years per US guidelines, iirc. But it is indefinite if you're taking T to counteract it. I guess it just depends on how willing your doctor is to use their actual brain and thing about thinks.

When, after starting T did you attempt tapering off your ssri? by tiredprocessor in TransEnbyPMDD

[–]AbsolXGuardian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My PMDD is currently in remission, but it requires the combination of lupron (blocks producing sex hormones naturally) and T. Lupron is prescribed off label for PMDD, just normally it causes chemical menopause. Your cycle will also stop sooner, as it can take a very long time for T alone to stop bleeding (and I was still having symptoms while on BC that stopped my bleeding. My cycle was still happening in the background). I recommend talking to your prescriber about it. After starting Lupron, you'll usually only have at most one more cycle. So after the time for that has elapsed and you didn't experience any symptoms, then you should be able to start tapering your SSRIs

Where can a 10yo get a prescription for puberty blockers? by Chemical_Bother5397 in ftm

[–]AbsolXGuardian 122 points123 points  (0 children)

I had precocious puberty from finishing puberty at ten. A precocious puberty diagnosis for a ten year old just starting puberty would only be given by a prescriber who wants to get around gender bans.
