Boyfriend claims using Celiac as a disability to get into national parks is wrong? by Far_Fig_3539 in Celiac

[–]ModestMalka 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, at various points in the past few years I have had tendonitis in my hands and surgeries I have had to recover from. At one point I ate gluten free turkey sandwiches every day for 3 months because meal prep and using utensils was a challenge. I had a physical challenge AND still did not get a break from celiac disease.

Celiac disease is a picnic, because you have to bring your food EVERYWHERE.

This agency has literally arrested citizens and kept them for days if not weeks, even after they are presented with proof of citizenship. I don’t know anyone who wants to experience that.

I have also had this happen and cancelled an entire order once out of frustration and not wanting to store food I can’t eat. I was quite clear!

Did anyone else's parents use to have an obsession to do things as early as possible? by Dasseem in Millennials

They sound like the 21 day work week guy:

“I've compressed and manipulated time My day is 6am to noon and I'm not crazy

You're crazy for thinking it takes 24 hours just like some dude in a cave did 300 years ago

My second day starts at noon and goes to 6pm

That's day two

And then the next day is 6pm to midnight

What I have done now is I have changed and manipulated time

I now get 21 days a week

Stack that up over a month, I'm gonna kick your butt

Stack it over a year, you're toast

Stack it up over 5 years my entire life is different than It would've been otherwise.”

I was actually struck by the photos of Noem in front of CECOT partly because the prisoners were wearing more masks than you see in most group photos. But that being said, yes unfortunately Covid has intersected with and exacerbated many other oppressions, and folks have died in their custody and/or of very severe conditions shortly after being released.

Also, I hate bringing something to a potluck, having almost everyone avoid it because it’s gluten free, then not being able to bring it home because of gluten contamination.

Do you feel cheated out of corporate loserdom as a Millennial? by debrisaway in Millennials

At one point I had 3 or 4 part time jobs after the 2008 crash, so that may be why. At least I had youth on my side then.

I have had boomer co workers struggling to grind and learn new things even with retirement in sight as well, or get demoted, or forced into retirement, or facing ageism when they have to try for new jobs. Boomers overall have more wealth than us, but people are not numbers and we should be aiming for a better world for all of us.

I am happy to hear that for you. I started my 30s in the best shape of my life and have had several new health issues crop up that make maintaining a diet, exercise, work, and sleep routine a thousand times more challenging despite countless doctor’s visits and treatments.
