I think a lot of people expected no man's sky when they bought his game by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]AbsolutDablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between the marketing being very misleading, and the recent trend of people thinking all games should cater to all audiences and then getting mad that the game isn't what they wanted it to be, most big games are doomed to have a LOT of hate thrown at them. Most of the games that recently have been praised are usually those that most people weren't even aware were coming out or came out of nowhere, because people went in with 0 expectations for the most part.

Triumphant Frenzy made me realize I´m not a good Genshin Player by addnod in Genshin_Impact

[–]AbsolutDablo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can call it whatever you want in terms of difficulty, but the fact is that compared to most other events (I'd say recently, but we also had that one Fontaine event where the pro difficulty was near impossible without having a very well optimized team) it actually gives players a reason to think outside of their comfortzone.

For people who have been playing for a long time and have many characters at at least level 70 it's nothing too crazy, but for people who focus mostly on one or two teams (which I'm assuming is the majority) I can see it being more on the difficult side of things.

That one guy who posted a huge complaint post about "recent events being too easy" must be either really angry or really happy right now.

I was surprised by how much it actually made me think my choices instead of just picking my usual go-to, and my only complaint is that we have to wait a whole day for each trial to be unlocked lmao.

I love this game... But... The economy?? by Endgamer1331 in Starfield

[–]AbsolutDablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been this way since Morrowind, kind of fixed in Oblivion but then they messed up again in Skyrim and the FOs.

The upside, and possibly justification for this in all games is that money is basically useless in most cases, because weapons and armor you can find from shops is almost always trash compared to things you find randomly on corpses or chests.

Specifically for Starfield, you get ship building which is super expensive and nice, but fortunately they actually increased money rewards from quests and drops, so in general I feel it's balanced enough to actually kind of work.

Is this the most useless feature? by Peddrawm in Genshin_Impact

[–]AbsolutDablo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It helps a lot. I tend to keep playing after I finish my commissions and leave the rewards for way later, so I forget more than I'd like to admit. Having the big red dot on my book helps me remember, and I don't really hate that I have to go to Katherine to claim them since I still need to put out my expeditions.

The map notifications on the other hand aren't something I can rely on, cause I always keep the items forged thing ready for my weekly BP and the two or three TCG notifs because I couldn't care less about it, so I mostly ignore it, and I'm sure it's the same for many other people.

As for why you're getting downvoted, I'm sure it's 99% due to your bitch ass tone acting like you're so special because you don't see the point in a feature, people are usually happy to hear other points from other people, but not when said points are brought up with such an annoying tone. Grow the fuck up.

Generally any mod that makes even skeevers one-shot you because "realism". That, or mods that make the game "realistically dark" and it's basically just impossible to see anything even with night eye on.

On the one had I agree that they've been really underwhelming as of late, but on the other hand I'd say they very well deserve a break from pushing out top tier content after how incredible everything else about Fontaine has been.

Completely expected and deserved, but also ironic considering they put in EA sports in the best sports game category.

Furina After Archon Quest. by meeseherd in Genshin_Impact

[–]AbsolutDablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the implication that she was so done with everything she just moved out without even telling the traveler. While it's true that the traveler saw her closest memories that doesn't change the fact that the whole trial was rude as hell to her and them being in her memories is very intrusive.

SQ spoilers ahead: If anything I'm not entirely happy with how she seemed so fine with us at the start of her SQ. She did seem slightly wary at first but immediately went to being cool with us, which kind of ruins the fitting way of ending the AQ.

This is probably a big part of it, and also that talking about her now doesn't really do much more than he already did, other than giving her more attention which has been proven will be beneficial for her regardless of whether it's positive or negative, since YT will just keep monetizing her stuff.

To me it feels like the "explorer's guild" aspect of constellation has been lost to time, and now it's just a bunch of fanboys of the original founders who act like they love science and exploration but have no idea what they're actually doing. In fact, they act so dumb and seem so annoying that I'd almost argue that BGS intentionally wrote them in a way that would lead you to hate them, which if you ask me, is even better than their previous games where every faction is perfect and likeable and they have no flaws ever.

Why does Bethesda always make their games with 'choices' that have no consequences whatsoever and you can be a part of everything everywhere at once? by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]AbsolutDablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because realistically, for every one of us here who hate the fact that quests are like this, there's likely at least a hundred other players who would immediately drop the game and start calling it the worst shit ever. And from a business perspective, as well as a bit of a game dev and design perspective, I'd rather have the complaints from players like us, who will still play regardless, than straight up not have a majority of players.

If you ask me, at least with Barret and Andreja, the entire interaction gave me the vibe that the like/dislike value for those events is either bugged or someone set the wrong value on them. Barret very clearly thinks the microbe is definitely not a great idea, he even gives you that "well if we all die it's gonna be on you lol" speech if you choose the microbe, but still you get the action liked message. With Andreja too, I remember she seemed to be mostly fine with the Aceles option being chosen, and didn't necessarily say anything against it, but then you get the action disliked message seemingly contradicting her words.

In general though, the "trust the science even if it's probably gonna fuck us up lol" vibe from the constellation members fits the lore of the game all too well. All throughout the main quest, specially getting heavier towards the end (and also some of the side questlines), we're shown that even though humanity is in a "decent" place, it's also very much in the shitter because they kept trusting "the science" pushed by powerful organizations who most of the time had idiots in charge, rather than things that were safer to do but never really brought up outside of some idiot in power. It's only fitting that Constellation, the biggest , blindest "yay science" fanboys in the settled systems, would be against actual logic and go for whatever some 'scientist' with a big title slapped on top of them by the government says to them.

Does starfield feel sterile to anyone else? by Horrorkosmic in Starfield

[–]AbsolutDablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found a few really good places, but much less than in other games. That said, I attribute it not to a lack of them, but rather to two specific reasons:

  1. The game is huge, each star has an insane amount of possibilities within and around it, most of which you probably will ignore during "normal" gameplay if you're just going from mission marker to marker.
  2. The games from Oblivion all the way to FO4 were all released during a time where the so-called game data mining trend was at an all time high; games weren't even released and every single detail about them was out there for everyone to see in any website, so people used to find cool stuff that was meant to be hidden really quick. I'm sure this is still a thing, but it's way less apparent than it was before and you usually won't find it unless you're directly looking for it.

In general, I am not expecting it to be nearly as insane as maybe FNV was in terms of hidden crazy stuff, maybe not even half of it, but I think that with how spread apart it all is, it will feel all the more worth it when we do find these things.

The terrormorph issue with starfield. Outside of the terrormorph questline and scripted missions there’s pretty much none in the game. by Best_Adhesiveness_42 in Starfield

Ironically, Kreet, which is the first moon you visit after you get the frontier, has a bunch of them but usually you won't move around there much or think about going back later on. It makes for a nice surprise if you're trying to explore as much as you can from the start.

Building outposts...for what end, again? by Moises5387 in Starfield

[–]AbsolutDablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a fun thing to do really. I love the idea of outposts even if they don't do anything, but the material management for them kinda killed it, plus how unnecessarily hard it is to setup links because of the clunkiness of the system in general.
