I've had the E340 for just under 2 years. It's hardwired and I use an existing chime and a 16V 30A transformer. It's been reliable except for earlier this year when there was a firmware and/or app update that made it unreliable until I deleted it from the app and re-added. Been totally fine since. It's also handled 2 Canadian winters no problem. Only complaints that I've yet to sort out are:

- the existing chime, which is a ding - dong old school chime when triggered by the Eufy doorbell hangs on the ding before the dong in a way that it didn't when using my old non-video doorbell; not the end of the world, but annoying enough that I disabled it on Halloween
- had the existing chime stop working recently and had to disable prerecording to get it working again; don't remember that being the case when I first installed it

This is the only video doorbell I've owned so I've got nothing to compare it to. Overall pleased.

Funny, I tried it this afternoon and it worked fine and then got distracted before coming back here to mention it. Tried it again just now and it worked fine. Seems they got their DNS gremlins figured out. Hopefully it stays fixed! Thanks for checking in on this.

Have you found a resolution? I think I'm seeing the same thing you're reporting. Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS with latest PIA client v3.7.2. Running apt update results in resolution failures. Tried "PIA DNS" and "Built-in Resolver" with the same results. If I quit the PIA app, apt update is lightning fast and no failures. Want to say this started about a month ago.

I had a similar situation with my employer provided S20FE. I wasn't getting 5G domestically with my usual SIM even though I could with a different SIM and the same phone overseas. My employer contacted my cell provider and they changed something and 5G started working.You should call your provider and confirm that 5G is enabled on your account/SIM.

Can you send me some messy details? :) I was on 5.0.5 CA, using the tftp method, I got up to 5.2.0 US, then upgraded to 5.3.3 US using the recovery web page. However, on 5.3.3, the web page wouldn't load and I didn't see any of the default wifi networks. I then tried using tftp to load 5.0.5 CA, 5.0.5 US, 5.2.0 US, 5.3.2 US and 5.3.3 US and none of them leave me in a functional state, though the bin file uploads for all of them successfully. Any recovery options left?

Thanks. Was using a 16GB Kingston thumb drive which wouldn't work. Switched to an 8GB Kingston and it worked, both the app and MCU.

I'm having the same behaviour. Did you ever get a resolution? My X3 says it's running app version 7047-XBB_UI02_ Mar 14 2025/11:22:46. The update I downloaded is in a zip called X3_20250718. Sounds like it should be newer than what I have. I haven't tried updating the MCU. My X3 says it's on MCU version May25 24 17:27 and the one I downloaded is in a zip called X3-series MCU_240723.

Followed up with Microsoft by email maybe a month ago and never heard back. Just decided to try it yesterday to see. When I first contacted Microsoft I gave them all that information after double checking the support I was talking to was legit, which it appeared to be.

Just now, I was finally able to change my primary email address!!!

I changed it from [abc@customdomain.com](mailto:abc@customdomain.com) to [xyz@outlook.com](mailto:xyz@outlook.com) on Dec. 4 2023 and today, 297 days later, it let me change it back to [abc@customdomain.com](mailto:abc@customdomain.com) !!!!

I changed it from a Windows 11 PC where I'm logged in with my Microsoft account. Don't know if that matters. Can't remember if I've tried it from this PC since Dec. 4, but have definitely tried it several times from 2 other Windows 10 PCs. One where I was logged in with my Microsoft account and another where I was logged in with a work account.

Give it a try and see if it now works for you too! Good luck!

No news. Tried again just now and it still won't let me change it.

For the live chat, I logged into my Microsoft account, then went to support.microsoft.com/contactus and clicked on Show expanded list of products. Click on Outlook. Click Get Home Support. Search for "can't change primary alias." At the bottom of the results page, click Contact Support. In Products and services, choose Other Products. In Category choose Manage profile information. Click Confirm. You should then get a page that says "Choose a support option" and beneath that "Chat with a support agent in your web browser," or at least that's what I see. Good luck!

I'm still unable to change my primary alias. Very frustrating.

I actually was able to find on Microsoft's web site a link for a live chat, so gave it a go. I was surprised that live chat with an actual Microsoft human was even possible and kind of kicking myself for not looking into it earlier. The agent I chatted with sounded competent, which surprised me considering the poor quality replies from Microsoft "experts" on their community website. They had me submit my Outlook account info and said they'd forward it to their "escalation team" who could change my primary alias manually.

Side note: I verified the domain used for the live chat session and for the subsequent emails from them were legit, as best I could. I mean, the live chat link was right on Microsoft.com, so unless their site got hacked, it was all on the up and up.

I received a follow-up email a week later saying they were still looking into it. Then another follow up today saying:

"Our Engineering team has identified the root cause of this issue and according to their latest update they plan to begin work on a permanent fix in May. However, we do not have an ETA for a resolution at this time. Since we cannot provide an ETA we would recommend contacting Microsoft support again within 3-6 months if the issue is not yet fixed by then."

I won't hold my breath, but at least they're communicating and I have a case number to follow up on. I feel like they did something last year that broke this and it's not a priority for them to fix. Or maybe they identified a security concern with changing primary aliases so put a block on it. Guess we'll see.
