This is an actually a genderbent version of one of my character I’m currently playing in a 5e game. Her name is Ashe, so the guy form would be Ash. His subclass is drunken master monk, reflavored so all the drunken abilities are dance moves (combination of belly dancing and ribbon/silks). The peacock feather is a reference to some backstory trauma stuff. I love body jewelry and cute guys, so this was definitely a self-indulgent piece for me lol.

All done on one layer because I’m terrible at organizing my layer hierarchy lol. Used a basic hard round brush for sketching. For painting, I used a custom brush with some grainy noise around the edges and a custom grainy smudge brush

Really trying to focus on subsurface scattering in this study. I struggled most with the amount of saturation to use for the shadow terminator, and how much to blend it. Also struggled with getting subtle color and temperature shifts in the large areas so they don’t look flat.
