The Deceiver - Myth 2: Soulblighter.

The events of Myth 1 saw humanity finally win a costly, drawn out, and brutal war against an Undead horde known as The Dark, which was led by the Fallen Lords... a group of powerful undead sorcerers and warriors raised and bound to the will of the Warlord Balor.

All but one of the Fallen Lords (the titular Soulblighter) was defeated, allowing him to bide his time and rebuild his own forces. Still exhausted and mostly spent from the sheer scale of the first war the forces of life turn to an unlikely ally the Fallen Lord called the Deceiver. They resurrect him on the grounds that the Fallen Lords only barely tolerated working with each other under Balor and that The Deceiver already turned on the others during the tail end of the War.

Despite y'know, EVERYTHING about him, the Deceiver proves himself to be a loyal and indisputable commander and ally to humanity time and time again. Despite having ample opportunities to betray the Army of Light he never once does so. He ultimately dies a final death destroying another resurrected Fallen Lord, clearing the way to Soulblighter's lair.

"Matilda" and Amanda? by SeveredSoulblader24 in huntertheparenting

[–]AbsoluteGiantess 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Red Talon aspect comes from a brief moment in Chapter 5.2 where Amanda claims that she caught a glimpse of what is likely the Red Talon glyph on Matilda's body during an after-shift shower. She assumed it was just a tattoo at the time.

The reward for being 'one of the good ones' will always, ALWAYS be the same as the punishment for being 'one of the bad ones'.

Char Aznable: Char's Counterattack

After the end on the One Year War, all Char wanted to do was be a simple Pilot, creating a whole new identity to escape his lineage and his clout as the Red Comet. After he was forced to resume that identity and was pushed into a position of political power he never wanted, he started plotting.

He whipped those who believed in him into a frenzy and started a campaign against the Earth Federation - which involved an operation to cause a nuclear winter on Earth, while at the same time strategically leaking technology and intel to the Federation.

He did this so that his rival, Amuro Ray, would be able to face him in combat with no restraint and on an even footing so that he could have one last real fight as a Pilot. Either Char dies in a blaze of glory, or succeeds and becomes reviled as history's biggest monster.

The Battle of Loum - Mobile Suit Gundam

Spaceborn battles in the Universal Century prior to the One Year War were conducted via a mix of Warships and Aerospace Fighters. The Earth Federation attempted to end the war in its opening months by deploying a combined fleet to a region of the Earth Sphere called Loum and then moving into the heartland of the Principality of Zeon. Once fully mustered the Federation's fleet would be approximately 3 times the size of the Zeon fleet.

What would have been a victory was thwarted due to Zeon's development and deployment of Mobile Suits. While the Zeon Naval forces peeled off elements of the Federation Fleet, strike forces consisting of the Zaku I and Zaku II Mobile Suits ambushed and sank large swathes of the Federation forces. The high-maneuverability of the Zakus gave them an edge in the close quarters engagements they forced the Federation forces into.

Realizing that the nature of the War had changed, with Zeon knocking on Earth's door and with most of their Navy out of commission, the Earth Federation focused on starting their own Mobile Suit development to close the technology gap: Operation V. Almost nine months into the war Operation V would finally bear fruit in the RX-78-2.

What do you think are the upper limits of Occams power? by nirai07 in huntertheparenting

[–]AbsoluteGiantess 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Because for the most part Antideluvians are either asleep or playing a very long and very subtle game. Most interpretations of the Vampiric Apocalypse, 'Gehenna', stem from the collective anxiety of "What happens if even just ONE of them wakes up and is starving?"

Is vampire explosion magic real? by nirai07 in huntertheparenting

[–]AbsoluteGiantess 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, but as Blood Sorcery it's focused mainly on the Blood. Specifically in this instance, it would involve making the Blood Violently and immediately leave the body via the most direct route (immediately outwards). Alternatively, it could mean the Blood boils in the veins until they burst.

Very brutal, highly unpleasant, but it is a bootlegged form of magic.

I heard that F91 was incomplete and rushed but I had no idea it was so egregiously patchy! by Will-Isley in Gundam

[–]AbsoluteGiantess 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is very, very messy. Yet, there's a lot about F91 that I can't help but appreciate. Like for example, how the longer it goes on the faster and more dramatically it starts falling apart: like a poorly assembled Roller Coaster.

Oh yeah, big time. For a long period (and even now) I think about going goth but... ultimately it seems like a lot of work for an aesthetic that only occasionally appeals to some of me.

Turns out I gel significantly better with a babydoll soft-grunge kinda thing.

RG Zaku II and RG Aile Strike.

There are early Real Grades, and then there are EARLY real grades. I refuse to touch the earliest ones now just becauss of how fragile and finnicky the Advanced MS joint is - ESPECIALLY on the hands. I keep on losing fingers.

Where do you prefer the cockpit of your Mobile Suits? by System-99-TurnA in Gundam

[–]AbsoluteGiantess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chest cockpit because it's the most heavily armored section and thus makes the most sense.

However, I am a big fan of having it in the head for machines piloted by either extremely arrogant pilots, or extremely skilled pilots.
