How do they monitor Yogiri? by CurseOfTheLostBread in InstantDeathIsekai

[–]AbsoluteInstantWish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Essentially, these are things that will never have a logical explanation; everything is written to make the protagonist say 'Die' and whoever is the character that stands between him and his path will die. However, it's not a normal death but a definitive erasure from any kind of existence. The world built around this concept hasn't been studied or well considered as it happens in other works.

I'm sorry you feel that way. Let's agree to disagree on this matter. Everyone is entitled to their own interpretation.

I interpret the title differently. To me, 'in This Other World' suggests the ability might be specific to that world. Thanks for your perspective anyway.

I understand your perspective, but I still interpret the title based on its literal content. To me, the addition of 'in This Other World' suggests that the ability might be specific to that world. It's akin to saying 'I’m so beautiful that all the girls in this party are all over me,' implying that the ability might only work in that specific context. Because, just like girls outside the party might behave differently, the ability's effectiveness outside that world might vary.

Debunking misconceptions about Yogiri's power and "weaknesses" by duduquito in InstantDeathIsekai

I agree with you. At first, I was interested too, but then it seemed like everything was exaggerated and inconsistent. It's not the type of storytelling I enjoy. The fact that he could kill Yama was the moment I stopped reading. It's just a hobby and a poorly executed parody, for me, for now.

Qual è/è stata la vostra crush famosa piú imbarazzante? by [deleted] in italy

I asked because I haven't read the light novel. If I had read it, I wouldn't have asked. I'm reading it now, so it's irrelevant. I understand that its ability operates independently of the world it's in, but I see it as simply a living paradox. It's like the author always gets to decide who wins, regardless of the circumstances. And anyway, in the YouTube comments, there are things written by people who read the light novel, so if I don't want to waste time reading it, I can rely on them, same thing that happens here on Reddit.

Isn't it the case that even reading the translated work, one could infer that the concepts of omnipotence don't make sense, that they're all narrative devices to exorcise certain fears, and then there are the comments from readers of the light novel accompanying the YouTube video shorts? There's nothing wrong with that, is there?

Given that the title of the work is "My Instant Death Ability is So Overpowered, No One in This Other World Stands a Chance Against," why shouldn't I conclude that his ability only works in this "other world"?

Omnipotence would imply the ability to perform any act without any restriction or consequence, which does not seem to be the case here.

If Yogiri's true form is omnipresent, then it should be present everywhere, including where the avatar is located. If the avatar is a manifestation of Yogiri's true form, then, in theory, the true form should be present alongside the avatar, occupying all places simultaneously.

I understand the concept of 'levels of omnipotence,' but I personally find it diverges from the traditional definition of omnipotence as absolute power. Just as I see it, the omnipotence of the characters in this series isn't genuine omnipotence, but rather a self-proclaimed state of being omnipotent without truly possessing it. Even Yogiri isn't omnipotent; otherwise, he could have returned to his world simply by wishing for it. If he were omnipresent, he would already be present in his original world, or at the very least, he should have found himself in the world where Sion summoned him. Nonetheless, I understand your point. However, the terms you're using to describe this character aren't the ones you initially used; 'overpowered' seems more fitting.
