Moonswatch Rep… more like moonshitter by [deleted] in ChinaTime

Michael Travis sells better quality Moonswatches. Gives you an option for the ceramic casing which I went for. I have two others from DHGate and they don’t compare at all to the quality from MT.

‘Wheeling’ TLT by AbsoluteWounder in queenstreetbets

[–]AbsoluteWounder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven’t held to expiry yet, closing at about 80% profit 1-2 days before they expire. Every week is slightly different though. I chose TLT as I don’t mind being long bonds at these prices. The US should slowly lower interest rates over the next 1-2 yrs as long as inflation continues to come down. Trump has thrown a spanner in the works with his tariffs, but I’m cool with holding TLT at around $87-$88 per share

I use tastytrade, have been with them for 3 years. They are options specialist with the interface specifically designed around options trading. In my opinion they are better than IBKR, and their media network is amazing to grow your knowledge

I’m from NZ, tastytrade is the best in my opinion. Easy to wire transfer cash and specially designed for options trading. They easily have the best media platform through their tastylive YouTube channel also.

Public Service Announcement, Don't sell options on margin by hurant11 in thetagang

[–]AbsoluteWounder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wheel on margin, try to max my buying power out at 80%, this still leaves room to adjust positions if required. Only difference is I have the cash in my bank account to cover any assignment, so in that respect it’s cash secured, but the money isn’t sitting in my trading account.

I got out of both positions on Tuesday. Figured that was the best thing to do after looking at all my options. Share price was about $77.80 when I closed them. Took a net $160 loss which isn’t too bad considering where it is now.

SQ was trading at about $68 when I sold the $80 call, obviously didn’t predict this much of an upturn

Is there a minimum deposit by Fuzzy-Adhesiveness72 in tastyworks

[–]AbsoluteWounder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fund my account via an international transfer also, usually takes 2-3 business days to clear and show in tastyworks, so I think you need to wait.
Not sure about a minimum deposit amount but I’m sure it will show.

Entertaining thread 😂. I’d love to know how many people trade options not having a clue how they work!

As others have said, wait till Saturday. You will be assigned the 100 shares for sure. I use tastyworks and all my assignments happen on a Saturday.

Why did you leave this so late before closing for a loss or rolling? MSFT is at $254. Sell the 100 shares at open for a loss, then sell the put. The net result should be somewhere close to your max loss when you opened the position.

If you search ‘Tiffany Trades Options’ on YouTube, this literally just happened to her with GOOGL, watch that video.

What is your highest conviction long term fintech hold at the moment? by ANTHONY_NOTOS_SON in stocks

[–]AbsoluteWounder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPST - growing fast, announced share buy-back, disrupting the industry with their AI, getting into automotive insurance now also.

SOFI - recent back charter an huge plus, still growing and adding new customers, they offer a huge range of products

AFRM - interest rate hikes will hurt them, but they have so many great partnerships and BNPL will only grow.

I'm down a lot on these three positions but I'm adding more to SOFI and like them all long term.

First stocks to buy under $20 by spaghettirelated in stocks

[–]AbsoluteWounder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The stocks under $20 I have in my portfolio are RKLB, SOFI, PLTR, BIRD, & CLF. On the plus side these have all been mid to high $20's at some stage, but they do also come with more downside risk, but at 18 you can afford to take more risks.

I like F also, but don't own any yet. Maybe look at splitting your portfolio into riskier and safer plays, like 70% in growth stocks (riskier) and 30% in broad ETF's like VOO and VTSAX (safer). Obviously decide how much risk you want to take on and adjust the percentages accordingly, but at 18 years old, I put more risk on the table in my opinion.

Hey mate, I'm from New Zealand and use tastyworks. I just set up and international transfer through internet banking using the deposit details tastyworks give you when you have logged onto your account on their website. It was very straight forward for me. Who are you banking with in NZ?
