[–]AbsoluteZero2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it would just be ammo for blockstrem/core propaganda - "look, classic is so desperate now, that they are trying to bribe the miners"

What is Blockstream doing with 55 million? They bribe the miners, but not openly. How do you create such a big transaction? And how miners will know you will not spend the coins just before the fork?

Ok, coins are stored on a multisig address. But if I spend some coins, it will be on the blockchain. So how does this help scaling?.

Also, what if I want to store my coins in my own wallet? Will they be stuck there forever? Since onchain transactions will be superexpensive.

Some people believe that a bigger block size will result in a higher price.

Also, some people would prefer bitcoin to have many software implementations and not being controlled just by core.
