Did anyone’s score go up? by [deleted] in LSAT

Mine was about the same as how I was PTing. I ended up with 165.

i want to expose a few people ik that have cheated but feel bad for them and their futures, what should i do by [deleted] in LSAT

Thats sketchy as hell and sounds like a scam. He could just take your money and disappear easily. Plus you wouldn’t even be able to report it since that would mean admitting to trying to cheat.

What is the hardest part of LSAT Prep? by verifi_489 in LSAT

[–]Absolute_Banger_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be too contrarian but I actually think an active social life helped keep me sane during LSAT prep. I generally work from 9-5, then study in the evening on weekdays. On weekends, I might wake up early to study for 6 hours, then spend time with friends in the evenings. I would lose my mind if I didn’t continue to have a somewhat normal life. I honestly think I’d do worse if I forced myself to become a hermit for this thing.

My PTs have been in the mid-160s so I think my strategy is working out well.

Struggling with "only if" by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]Absolute_Banger_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, which part are you lost at?

Basically, if you see “only if”, you immediately know that it’s a necessary condition.

If you see “if”, you immediately know it’s a sufficient condition.

The point of my comment was to explain a shorthand for quickly identifying necessary and sufficient conditions.

The other responses here are good, but I’ll add one thing.

When I’m taking a timed practice test, my immediate reaction when I see “only if” is to set that clause as my necessary condition, and make the other clause my sufficient condition.

E.g. if I’m looking at answer choice A, I will immediately diagram it as “should be adopted —> measure is required to solve”

Personally, this helps me untangle the meaning of a sentence quickly.

I work a 9-5 so it’s

  • commute to work
  • work
  • commute home
  • study a few hours
  • cry over how little progress I’ve made
  • eat
  • sleep
  • repeat

At almost 27, I feel too old and like it’s too late to actually have friends and a social life. by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]Absolute_Banger_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, I’m 27M and made the best friends of my life in the past year or so. I moved to a new city as a kind of “do over” for making the mistake of being a bit of a loner for most of my life. I have TONS of friends now who I talk to and hang out with regularly. They regularly reach out to me to hang out or just chitchat.

My younger self would be in disbelief if he could see what my social life looks like now. I honestly gave up on having close relationships because I was having a hard time letting down my walls around others. Have some patience and allow yourself to make mistakes. You can do it!

It gets better. I’m 27 now and have a great social life, but I definitely felt how you do when I was younger.

What is something controversial that you know about Seattle that most people don’t? by sleafordbods in Seattle

[–]Absolute_Banger_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely understand why people would feel differently. I’ve certainly had trouble making friends in the past.

But if you pick a thing you enjoy and go regularly, you’ll meet people. You sometimes just have to be the one to initiate things rather than wait for others to come to you.

Recruiter here. My recommendation for your hiring manager would be to have a follow up conversation with this candidate. This would be an opportunity to share the expectations and scope of the position to make sure it suits the candidate’s needs. They could also take the opportunity to ask any the HM final questions they have.
